Taff's Well · 整套民居 · 2室0床1.0卫 · 可住4人 · Unique stone terrace house in Taff’s Well village
A colourful, unique stone terrace house in the heart of Taff’s Well. Whether you’re looking for a tranquil walk in the countryside, a thrilling MTB ride down the trails or an adventure in the vibrant city of Cardiff, our house provides you with the perfect base. Cuddle up in front of the log burner in the winter and enjoy our party ready pagoda in the summer, make our house your home from home. Good to know: 10 min drive outside Cardiff. 5 min walk to the train. Local shop. Bike storage. Enter the open plan living space through a porch which is perfect for storing your muddy wellies, coats and umbrellas. In the living space there is a farmhouse table for all your meals and a retro Parker Knoll egg chair which is the most comfortable reading chair I’ve ever sat in! The galley kitchen is small but equipped with everything you need to whip up a feast and leads you into the secluded garden which has rear lane access and secure bike storage. There is an outdoor tap and pressure washer (in the shed) if you need to clean your bikes after you’ve hit the renowned South Wales MTB trails. Upstairs there are two bedrooms with double beds and a sunken office space which has a sofa bed should you wish to invite more friends/family over to stay. If you do require the sofa bed please message me after booking to let me know so that I can make it up for you. Spare bedding is not left at the house and is only available if requested prior to arrival. There is an additional cost of £20 per stay for use of the sofa bed. The family bathroom is downstairs, which has proven very useful in the past for washing muddy children (and dogs!) quickly after an adventure in the woods!
We loved our weekend stay here, it had everything we needed. The house is beautiful and quirky, the pictures don’t quite do it justice and it was bigger than I expected. The secure back yard was really handy for our dog. There is a local Co-op and some lovely pubs in walking distance. Would definitely recommend.
Lovely little cottage very conveniently located for the train to Cardiff to go to a gig, as well as close to the bike parks for daytime activities. The water was hot and heating effective for the cooler evenings. We made a fire but had to get our own wood as we couldn’t find any dry wood at the house. Unfortunately the washing machine wouldn’t work but Sophie was very responsive and offered to get it looked at over the weekend. We didn’t want to be disturbed so just managed without. We paid extra for the sofa bed but it was so hard that my son couldn’t sleep on it so we had to replan sleeping arrangements! The train station nearby is really useful but the trains toot as they come in to the station so that was a bit of a shock early the first morning, take ear plugs. The bedrooms have blinds but no curtains so they were quite light in the morning too. We enjoyed our stay and would visit again if there were some small improvements.
This is a lovely place which served our small family well for visiting family in Cardiff. It is small but perfectly formed and just big enough for 2 adults, 2 kids (11 and 9) and with the hard wearing carpet great for our new puppy. It’s stylishly decorated and the kitchen is well equipped and we felt at home. The Welsh Cakes on arrival were a nice touch. The parking is challenging if not confident but we always had a space on the road outside. There are lots of fun walks nearby or within a short drive - Fforest Fawr and Georgetown were great with the dog.
Quiet street with lovely friendly neighbours in the heart of Taff’s Well village.
Taff’s Well train station is a 5 minute walk from the house and Cardiff is about 20 minutes on the train. Pontypridd is also about that (in the opposite direction) and has a wonderful park for children.
There are several bus stops and a regular bus service running 7 days a week.
The Taff Trail runs through Taff’s Well and if you wish you could cycle all the way to Brecon (head north) or the Penarth and the sea (head south).
There are several local pubs all walking distance from the house and all serving great beer. The Gwaelod y Garth Inn is our personal favourite but please be aware it’s closed Mondays and Tuesdays.

We’re the Meyers, a family of four who have moved out of our home to start the next chapter of our lives in Monmouthshire. We love to up-cycle and splash colour about whenever we can and will really miss our lovely little house so please enjoy it as much as we did!
