Wow… what can I say other than what a Magical place by the Sea this is. Waking up every morning and making coffee watching the waves roll in 🌊 We had a wonderful stay and won’t forget this special place. Peter thank you so much for all your recommendations and help! We loved our time in Northern Ireland and would definitely recommend Ballycastle as a base for exploring the Giants causeway and the Northern Coastline.
Peter‘s cottage is a beautiful place: in reality even more beautiful than on the pictures. It has an incredible view and is located directly at the ocean. Peter is a great host who makes you feel at home from the first minute. We can recommend this place 100%.

I live in Ballycastle. My family came to the north Antrim coast from nearby Rathlin Island in 1890. The cottage sat overlooking the sea, right on the edge of the land they purchased and interestingly, it was built alongside an old Salt store and a half buried salt pan. The salt store was later to became a Fever Hospital, after the saltworks ceased in 1800. However, the hospital had closed by 1830. The walls around the cottage are part of the original structure. Down the generations, we have maintained the cottage and it’s gardens and in recent years, lovingly restored it. It has a special part in our our family history. I enjoy meeting our guests and sharing this special, unique location with them.
