Lovely place. A bit noisy with delivery vehicles and construction next door. Best house in the street!

Had similar issues to others, few roller doors didn’t work or were off their runners so couldn’t shut the toilet door plus a little dated with old fixtures in the shower, etc. Other than that the location is great, very close to the beach and to restaurants and shops, can’t fault the location at all.

Our stay would be the most disappointing booking we have made on Airbnb. First impression was favourable, but it was not of the standard we had enjoyed in the same price range in the preceding weeks elsewhere in South Australia. The sheets were worn and not ironed and the towels were poor. The pillows were thin and the mattress only adequate. The shower, laundry and toilet have not been refurbished for some years. The property is described as a retreat. First night, our sleep was interrupted by loud music until 2am from a nearby property, accompanied by drunken brawling on the green opposite and into the street immediately outside. We were woken at 6am by building works on the adjacent property. Our attempts to engage with the host elicited the response ‘call the police or Airbnb if you have any complaints’. We cancelled the rest of our stay. The host declined to negotiate on his cancellation policy and we ended up $2100 out of pocket for a quiet week’s stay that was not delivered.

This was our third stay at 8 Newman Street Semaphore which goes to show how highly we rate it. It is always spotlessly clean, the bed is comfortable and the open plan living area and kitchen are great for relaxing. Close to the action but out of the noise and crowds. Highly recommend.

Enjoyed our stay very much. The location was fantastic and the property was the perfect size for the two of us as well as to work from the property on some days. Everything we needed was available to us for the stay.
