I unfortunately had an issue with the first apartment I booked with Ukio as it was not clean and there were a few other issues with bugs, a shower that was not functioning and a sewage smell. They did allow me to move to a newer apartment, which was very clean, and I had no issues during that portion of my stay. Unfortunately they did charge me quite a significant amount for the new apartment, even though it was listed at the same nightly rate at the time of the change. I tried to resolve this with the team, and it took a lot of time and effort only to receive a very small refund of the new charge. I found this to be quite an inconvenience and a heavy financial burden on me for issues on their end. I understand they are a start up, so I believe they will sort these issues out. Otherwise, I did enjoy my stay.

We do this by disrupting the traditional residential real estate market by providing high quality and furnished apartments for stays of one month or more. We remove all the frustration around finding a rental with no long-term contracts, moving/buying furniture, security deposits, broker fees, etc. All you have to do is show up and start living. Ukio was founded by two brothers with deep experience in technology and real estate at companies such as Airbnb, Headspace, and Electronic Arts. The company is headquartered in Barcelona, and looks to expand operations throughout Western Europe soon.
