Forest, hills, mountains, lakes for fishing and swimming - all surrounding our super-cozy village, Folldal. Open, clean and undisturbed.
"Endless" hiking and fishing areas, great trails for skiing and mountain biking outside the door. Fishing licenses are sold online, or in the villages sports shop.
Small local alpine slope 15 minutes away, Savalen Alpine Center 45 minutes, and Oppdal Alpine Center approx. 60 minutes (among Norway´s top 5).
View towards Rondane in the south and Snøhetta in the west - why not take a Hike on Norway´s roof this year?
Lake Kroktjønna is 10 minutes away - fantastic mountain lake with beaches, barbecue areas, sand volleyball, fishing spots and more.
The disused mines are open in the summer, where you can ride a train into the facility and, if lucky, attend live concerts inside the mountain hall!
Three wonderful trips by car are:
-Kakkeldalen, which is directly behind the cabin - see the beautiful mountain farms from 1200m above sea.
-Grimsdalen which starts 10 minutes away, and ends at Dovre, via Grimsdalshytta (remember to buy waffles there).
-Einundalen, Norway's most beautiful valley - we dont need to say more.

You can drive right up to the cabin all year, which has parking space for 4-5 cars just outside the fence. A large double gate can be opened if you need to drive all the way to the door and load heavy things in/out of the car. The road is private, but is plowed in the winter. No problems with steep slopes.
The village center is 5 minutes away by car, or a 25-minute walk. Two «supermarkets» will provide you with everything you need, also warm take-away food.
All hiking areas have plenty of parking.
