Welcome to this charming 1936 craftsman cottage, centrally located in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia. Come find beauty, quiet and rest, or get outside for invigorating hikes or bike rides, lively rivers with summer rafting & tubing, and rich history. You will have private room and full bath, a bright sunroom to lounge in and garden access. The natural splendor and beautiful night skies create a haven within walking distance of Harpers Ferry National Park, the C&O Canal, the AT, and downtown. Your entrance is through the back door facing the garden, and through the sunroom that is yours to enjoy. To get to your room you go through the kitchen and dining room, and your room is the only bedroom on the main floor. Mine is upstairs. This is an old house with squeaky floors and sticky doors. There are no locks on the bedroom door or bathroom door, but they are private - for your use only. Though lively, the bathroom is a little narrow.

This is a quiet neighborhood, and easy to walk around, as the traffic is minimal. It's a short walk to the cemetery with a gorgeous view of the river confluence, looking East. We are on the top of the ridge, and it's a gentle walk to Bolivar and to downtown Harpers Ferry, the National Park and both the Shenandoah and Potomac Rivers.
Parking is limited in Harpers Ferry, so having a parking space here at the house is gold! From here you can walk to restaurants, bakeries, the National Park, rivers, the Post Office, the Appalachian Trail Welcome Center etc... Another potentially convenient form of transportation is the train - both MARC and Amtrak arrive at the central station, a 10-minute walk to the house. This is close to the halfway point for the Appalachian Trail, which goes right through Harpers Ferry, so you can arrive on foot. Also many travel by bicycle on the C&O Canal. You can keep your bikes in the garage for easy storage.
