Comfy outdoor seating has a great vantage to ocean goings on like eagles, geese, boats and float planes. We provide all you'll need for your stay to be comfortable. Near to Elk Falls, the Campbell River, Ripple Rock hikes and 40 min from Mt. Washington. Situated below our primary residence, this 675 sq ft space is freshly painted, and trimmed inside with local Douglas fir. The ceilings are 9 ft high thus adding to a sense of spaciousness. The main area windows on two of the walls provide plenty of natural light. There is a basic kitchenette with a fridge and freezer. Sorry no oven but a single induction burner, instapot, electric skillet, rice cooker, toaster or microwave to cook with inside the suite. When the blackberries on the lawn edge are ripe please help yourself. The outside views on the inside of the suite are also quite enjoyable. Being on the lower floor its nice and cool in the warmer months. Local art work and home spun textiles are featured throughout.
Amazing spot! Quiet with tons of green space and wonderful ocean views. Big open windows in the living room and comfy furniture outside to enjoy the view. The place was clean, spacious and relaxing. Carole Anne was a great host and I would 100% recommend staying there.
Our stay was very comfortable. The space is beautiful and cosy. I would definitely recommend.
Wonderful property. Very private and peaceful with a fantastic view, and the unit itself was beautiful and lacked for nothing. Wouldn't hesitate to go back.
I stayed in the space for six nights. It was pristine, quiet and the view was amazing. The kitchen had everything I needed. Carole was quick to respond and set me up with a large folding table when I needed one for some projects. The location is a quick jaunt to downtown, the point and everything else I wanted to experience. I would definitely choose to stay here again.
Just a quick 7 minutes from the downtown core. If your coming to Campbell River from the inland Hwy just keep north towards Port Hardy. After the bridge drive for 2 more minutes to turn onto our street. We are in a rural setting with a 180 degree raised view of Campbell River Estuary and Spit. Beyond that is Quadra Island, directly across the waters of Discovery Passage.
Lots of interesting traffic in the air or on the water . Eagles, doves, cranes, ravens and migratory fowl are often seen. Daily as well are float planes and helicopters that come and go. A range of boats from big cruise ships to kayaks ply the waters out front. If your lucky and a good listener you can hear the calls of the dragon boat master or the 3 plus bells of a tyee just caught off the tyee pool club during July, Aug or Sept. Bring binos if you have them. The beach out front is accessible by the public access on the left corner side at the end of the sidewalk. Its a knarly walk, watch your footing walking at high tide along the shore. And if you venture out to the sand bars at the start of low tide be sure to get back before the tide starts to come back in. Word of warning there is always a waterway stream near the shoreline. This stream fills in first, so you may not want to wade or swim across to get back.
Lots of hiking nearby at the river, great fresh water fishing there as well.
