A truly unique and original Mediterranean style modern home in rural Harrisburg with architecture and design like a dream home in South Florida. It's a wonderful zen retreat from the hustle of the city. A section of the lower level has been converted into an en-suite area containing 1,100 square foot with two bedrooms and access to a shared lower-level covered patio, shared use of secondary (non-kosher) kitchen and adjacent living space. We recommend you close and latch the connecting door during your visit so the dogs don't run and jump on you and so our boys don't come in to cook snacks while they stay up late gaming across the globe (when they are home)! Feel free to enjoy any of the beverages in the refrigerator, but please refrain from eating their food in the freezer. Guests may have access to the year-round heated indoor pool and hot tub. For everyone's safety, the space is locked and for this reason we ask guests to coordinate each access with the owners (by app message, please) and use the door access code (in the guidebook). Upon entering this setting, be immediately stunned by everything it has to offer. The entire pool is surrounded by brick and the enormous sliding doors open to change the indoor pool into an outdoor retreat. A hot tub is built into the pool. Enjoy the pool year-round in sunshine, moonlight, rain, or snow. The pool and hot tub are self-serve, meaning the owners may not always be available to assist, so guests must follow the general rules, and are to follow the posted instructions to turn the hot tub and jets on and off. Use of the pool and hot tub are generously available, however it is by request at the time of use; therefore, some hours and days may be restricted and of course, the pool is occasionally closed for maintenance. The Villa is perfectly situated in the foothills of one of Harrisburg's most prestigious communities: Mountaindale. You'll find the neighborhood to be quiet, serene, and walkable all around. Located just minutes from downtown yet outside the city enough to offer a quiet and scenic neighborhood, within walking distance from the Susquehanna River, Wildwood Park, the Greenbelt, and a short drive to the PA Farm Complex, City Island, state Capital and downtown Harrisburg. This is a perfect vacation or remote work rental to enjoy the best of what Harrisburg has to offer. We are approximately 20 minutes from Hershey, PA. The Villa En-Suite is a spacious yet cozy portion of our home that is well suited to hosting a single guest or an entire group. The Kitchen has an eat-in island for two, a refrigerator, stove and convection microwave oven, and is fully stocked with all of our extra wares- everything a guest would need for cooking and eating in (dishes, utensils, pots and pans, blender, mixer, toaster, coffee maker, wine glasses, etc...) There are condiments/spices and storage materials. Coffee and tea are provided. The connecting door to the main home is located just off the Kitchen, and will remain closed on the owner side when the owners need privacy. The Dining Area and Living Area are in an open floor plan. The formal glass top dining table seats 6 and can be extended further to accommodate a larger gathering. There is a smart TV that can connect to any of your streaming accounts. The first bedroom has a queen-sized bed, the next has a full-sized bed, and a third option of setting up a twin sized bed (frame and mattress are stored in closet). Each bedroom has ample storage for a longer-term stay. The laundry closet is our secondary laundry, we keep it stocked with everything for the front-loading washing machine and dryer. The bathroom has a locking door and includes a dual sink countertop and heated seat bidet, and is fully stocked with all the items we use- paper goods, bath & hand towels, hair dryer, and even soap, shampoo, conditioner, and personal grooming items. Guest access: Checking in can't be easier. The owners are not always available to greet you when you arrive, so simply pull into the large driveway and park to the right side of the home (you will see the 1709B sign) where there is room for up to 3 vehicles. Walk down the brick path to the lower-level patio to the entry door, enter the keypad code, and you're in! There are several dusk to dawn and motion sensor lights to light your way after dark.
