When I found out the house was at the end of a couple miles of unpaved roads, I was a little concerned. But my Camry handled it just fine. It was nice to drive slow down the roacd and watch the prarie dogs watching us as we drove by. The location of the house is amazing, and the house itself is beautiful and well kept.

My goal for looking for an Airbnb in the area was to find a place where my family and I could enjoy all the beauty and activities the Southwest has to offer without leaving the property. The Abiquiu Lake House has all of that and then some. Inside we found all the furniture and beds to be very comfortable. Towels and linens are great and the kitchen had everything we needed. It is a beautiful home designed for easy comfort. The smaller bedroom can get a bit warm in the summer. It should probably get its own a/c like the master bedroom. My personal highlights... Silence! I loved laying on the lounge chairs at night looking at the Milky Way and hearing only the wind. Doing the same in the hot tub was even better. The views are spectacular as is the hiking right out the back door - cool geology and wildlife. Lots of interesting sites within an hour if you do wander. The photos do not do the house or the property justice. Shelley was a terrific host. Fast response times and friendly.

We booked theked withAbiquiu Lake House for our 20th Anniversary and it was amazing. If you love hiking and water activities this is your place. Besides the amazing views the home is absolutely stunning. Spent every evening watching the sun set over the lake from the hot tube against the amazing mountains. Highly recommended! Thank you Shelly and John
