Disgusting. Water turned off and toilet overflowing with someone else's poop. Poopy toilet paper in the garbage can and not as nice as it looks in pictures.

The 3 star rating translating to "Okay" (as opposed to a 4, which is "Good") feels about right, but I'd otherwise rate it a 3.5 on the 5 scale. And overall, I would consider staying there again assuming certain assurances/confidence. As well, the Evolve team was very responsive. The Good: * As described & cute basement apartment with lots of amenities (eg, washer/dryer, lots of storage, various appliances). * Plenty of street parking. I previously lived in the area & drove everywhere, so couldn't really attest to walkability. * Being a basement apartment, there's always the worry of noise traveling through from the upstairs. But despite the upstairs being occupied -- another rental by Evolve, I believe -- I really heard nothing, which is pretty fantastic. * While I didn't take advantage of the outdoor space & fire pit, the air fryer, the blender, etc., it was nice to have those things available. The Bad: * Main issue I experienced was that upon arrival the TV didn't work. It turned on, sure, but there was a painful purple hue that seemed to be the result of the backlighting having gone bad, such that the TV likely needs to be replaced. Seems odd how that wouldn't have been caught before I occupied the unit, but I went my stay without use of it (and the property guest contact went silent on troubleshooting it after an initial txt exchange). (Note: Evolve did issue me a modest refund as a result & was very communicative. But the Evolve team and the "guest contact" are two different parties.) * Second issue (that I thankfully dodged b/c it happened just as I was vacating) was the bathroom plumbing going bad and spilling water onto the floor (from the base of the toilet). Could've just been a freak accident, but the unit's water pressure & whatnot overall seemed a touch off (eg, water pressure in the shower is pretty weak). I'm not sure what the resolution would've been if it happened during my stay as the bathroom & shower became unusable. If you're considering staying there (as I might again), I'd just inquire about the two issues above and see what steps have been taken.

There was pet a human hair everywhere. Many of the surfaces were very sticky. We had to buy our own dish soap and dishwasher detergent.

It is a great space to come back and stay a night. However, it offers much to be desired if you are looking to cook or entertain.
