LOCATION could not be better! It was a very short walk (less than 10min) to the beach/boardwalk(malecón), to the Centro, Cathedral, Theater, and to the 2 vegan restaurants in Mazatlán! Beautiful historic old town, and Al’s place was in the middle of it all. Artimesa, the onsite housekeeper, was super nice. She takes care of everything onsite re:keys/entry/daily cleaning. (Be aware that her English is very limited.) The front of the house can be noisy due to being on numerous bus routes, but the back is super quiet. Rooms have great, quiet AC, but lack a microwave or any refrigerator, so plan accordingly. We would definitely stay there again!! Reason for 4 stars: floors were dirty/black soles due to lack of mopping. Swept and looked clean though. Also check in and out procedures were not detailed in listing nor in room. Required calls and uncertainty during night arrival and early morning departure. It would help to have a room flyer indicating how to check out/leave keys.
