STAY AWAY. Never been Catfished by a property till now. Excited to stay at the Mill in Bakersville but GPS sent us 10 miles away. Found it eventually in darkness, no lights outside. Inside was chaotic: no working lights, packages everywhere, dirty linens, unfinished projects, dirty dishes. Concrete floors made it cold. Looks like cleaning crew left in the middle of cleaning. All beds were stripped. No phone service or WiFi inside. Offered another property 25 minutes away but felt unsafe. Ended up in a hotel. Host lacked empathy or explanation. Airbnb agreed place looked creepy. Trust your gut and book elsewhere!

We very much appreciated Adam’s place for a short getaway! The outdoor (but under cover) hot tub was wonderful with a great speaker system, the bed was comfy, and the whole place was clean and decorated nicely in a post-modern/industrial meets historic theme. We really appreciated that all of linens, towels, games, kitchen equipment, and even spices/basic necessities and cleaning supplies were provided. Apart from being just a place to stay, the mill itself was interesting for its history and its location directly on the river. It’s about an hour from Asheville - far enough out to explore multiple state parks and within the quiet scenery of the Blue Ridge Mountains but close enough to spend time at Biltmore and other attractions in the city. Adam also seemed laid back and kindly reached out during our stay to make sure we didn’t need anything. Before we even left, my husband remarked that he’d love to come back to the house in the fall so hopefully we’ll be returning soon!

This location was ideal for a ladies birthday weekend getaway. The location is peaceful in the house itself is so cozy and interesting. It had a very well appointed kitchen for cooking brunch. The layout was spacious and even though we had eight people it never felt crowded. Adam was very responsive and helpful. The waterfall is amazing and so is the hot tub! We highly recommend!!

The mill is so cool. It’s historical. I love that it still had the old feel with new amenities. Right next to the river. So beautiful! They put a lot of work turning a building that was meant for mill work to a pretty cool home. There is so much room for everyone. All the kids were happy. Each had their own tv. Everyone was comfortable. We used the kitchen and the grill like we were at home. There’s a fire pit. And the hot tub was amazing…. Lighting and speakers, supercool. The parking was tricky but we figured out that if you look between the house towards the road you can tell when a car is coming. Location… it’s peaceful! Stores you need might be 20 mins away and all the big stuff like skiing is about an hour or so. It was perfect for us. We want to go during the summer. Adam was quick to respond and always helpful. We definitely recommend.

We loved our time here. It was the perfect place for our early family Christmas which included grandparents, teens, preschoolers, dogs, (and a partridge in a pear tree). Unlike a previous review stated, even though temperatures outside dipped, all three levels kept very toasty inside. We even opened the windows at times when we had upped the heat too much and had been cooking. We loved the hot tub, which is under a deck and sheltered from the rain and has a speaker in it that can connect via Bluetooth to your phone. There is a fire pit in the front yard (with wood cut and stacked in the entry). We would have loved to use the fire pit as well, but it was too rainy on our visit. Yes, the parking space is right off a bend in the road, but we didn’t encounter any issues. We had five cars which required a little maneuvering, but certainly anything less than that, you can make work or would be just fine. We found everything that we needed including coffee, dishwasher pods etc. Thank you!!
