Tan y Celyn is a cosy Welsh cottage found in the foothills of the Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park, in the small village of Rowen. A single-level cottage, Tan y Celyn is a lovely space for couples which has off-road parking and a lovely modern feel. The cottage is just a short walk from the local pub and close to the local attractions. The property features a charming and contemporary design, a compact yet well-equipped kitchen that includes a dishwasher and washing machine, oven and all modern conveniences. There is a shower room, a comfortable living and dining area with a gas fire that creates a flame effect, and two bedrooms. The main bedroom has a king-size bed and the second bedroom has a single bed. There is a small outdoor garden space with seating and a small table for two people. The property has been modernised but you can still see the original stone walls. Facilities at the cottage include WiFi, smart TV, washing machine, dishwasher, fitted kitchen, and parking for 1 car. The village pub is a short distance away. There are walks in the local countryside and you can easily travel to the local towns of Conwy and Llandudno or venture further into the national park.
We had a peaceful stay in this lovely cosy cottage. It had all the amenities we needed for our stay. The bed was comfy. The cottage is suitable for 1-2 adults, plus a child. My partner and I enjoyed our stay there.
The cottage was lovely, clean and modern. The beds were comfortable and the village was pretty and very quiet at night. While we had expected this, however, it was quite small and perhaps a bit too compact for three of us. There was nowhere to store clothes in the larger bedroom although there was a wardrobe in the smaller one where our 11 year old son was sleeping. Both bedrooms are directly off the living room which was a bit difficult in the evenings as we wanted to stay up and watch tv while our son was trying to get to sleep. Otherwise we had no complaints about the cottage and had a very comfortable stay. The price for the week was very reasonable too.
Rowen is known as one of the most beautiful villages in the Conwy Valley and a popular starting point for walks on the hills and mountains of the area, Rowen is a village on the western slopes of the Conwy valley in the parish of Caerhun and the former County of Caernarfonshire. It lies off the B5106 road, between Tal y Bont and the Groes Inn. Buildings of Gwynedd 2009 refers to the River Roe probably following the Roman route from Caerhun to Abergwyngregyn. Rowen has won tidiest village awards several times.
There are good road links to and from Rowen and across North Wales, as well as seasonal public transport routes for tourists, and good local taxi firms. The Llew Jones no. 19 bus serves Rowen and Pontwgan with direct services to Conwy and Llanrwst.
