Surround yourself with style in this small standout guest suite built for traveling nurses and working professionals. This room and bath is well appointed with Keurig, microwave, mini fridge, 55 inch TV with movie channels, the ability to stream, work desk. You have your own private entrance. This suite is within our home; however, it is closed off from the main house. We have two mini-schnauzers who bark when people come and go, so MUST LOVE DOGS. My family of four resides in the main home. Our quiet neighborhood is at the epicenter of Palm Desert. Within a 1/2 mile you can hike the Bump n Grind Trail, go to the movies, find a great biking trail, shop on El Paseo, the Westfield Mall, or the River; you can eat at PF Changs, the Cheescake Factory, Stuft Pizza, Red Lobster, The Yardhouse, The Olive Garden, Five Guys, The Spaghetti Factory, or Fisherman's Market; you can find necessities at Walmart, Whole Foods, Walgreens, Trader Joes, or Target. The expansive Civic Center Park is also within 1/2 mile. 15 minutes to Indio. 20 minutes from downtown Palm Springs. Long Term Guests: (28 days or more) Let us know if you would like to use the washer/dryer and we can figure out what days work best. We will slide the key under the bathroom door on those days before we leave for work. Otherwise, that door will remain locked. You are able to double lock that door with the second bottom lock. It will be locked from our side as well. As stated in the property description, we have pets on the property that bark when people arrive and leave. On days you use the washer and dryer, we will put a small fence up in the hallway to prevent the dogs from entering the area you will be in. The dogs will be able to see you and because they don’t know you, they will bark. It is up to you if you feel comfortable making friends with them. You can remove the fence if you like and spend time with them if you like at your leisure. You have our permission. They love affection. Our housekeeper, Karla, can clean your suite on Thursdays for a fee of $25.00 (Floors, shower, toilet, kitchenette). Changing out the sheets and towels and remaking the bed is an extra $5.00. She is usually here from 1:00PM to 4:00PM every Thursday. If you just want to exchange your towels for fresh towels each week, and you do not plan on doing laundry yourself, let us know. We can do that! We invested in soundproofing between the front casita wall that touches the back of your closet and kitchenette and your room as well as around the washer/dryer. However, the entire room isn’t soundproof. We removed the door entrance to the hallway where the bookshelf is, for even greater soundproofing. Nevertheless, as hard as we tried to create an independent unit feel, the suite is still a room in a house and sound permeates despite our best efforts. We want to be comfortable in our home and our guests equally comfortable in their own private space. For this reason, we provide a white noise machine in your room if you need it. It plays over 30 different sounds even though there are only 10 buttons. Click on a button once, twice, or three times to change the sound of each effect. Personally, my favorite is the third level of white noise. It is already set to this sound. AC: You have your own AC. TV: Turn TV on. Hit the Home button. Select the app you want to log into: Netflix, Hulu, etc. Log in with your account and be sure to log out when you leave. The Spectrum app is already logged in. On the Spectrum app, you have access to ALL channels, HBO, Showtime, TMC, and STARZ. There is a guide on the Spectrum app for the Channel selection. Trash: There are extra trash bags provided for your stay (next to the white trash can) and in the bathroom cabinet. You can empty the trash in the courtyard to the left of the fire pit in the large black trash can. We have also provided you with your own cleaning supplies, swiffer mop and broom, clorox spray, windex and safe and mild dish soap for rinsing cups and plates. However, weekly cleaning can also be arranged. The Sink: We understand that without a sink in the kitchenette it may be difficult to clean plates with food and organic waste. To solve this dilemma, we have provided paper plates and bowls that can be disposed of after each use. Additionally, the sink in the restroom can accommodate minor rinsing of cups, bowls, plates and utensils, and we have provided dish soap and scrubber for that purpose (under the sink). Be cautious in using the sink for dishwashing to avoid clogging your drain. Rules and Courtesies: -Please do not smoke in the house. -Please observe quiet hours after 9PM on Weekdays and 11PM on Weekends. Please take care of our home as if it were your own. -Please let us know if you need anything including pillows, extra blankets, or standing steamer. -Please park in front of the house, across the street, or in front of the empty lot. -Please communicate with us if you will have extra vehicles or guests visiting so we do not get confused with our other casita guests. -Please, use paper plates and bowls as needed and proceed with caution when rinsing cups, plates, utensils in the bathroom sink. -Please, as a courtesy, if you have a set schedule that has you away from the house during the daytime, set the AC to 77 or 78 while you’re out. Fire Pit We intentionally created a comfy space directly outside your suite for you to enjoy anytime. You are also welcome to use the fire pit, but please understand it is a shared space. We use it too sometimes. The fire pit is available to the front casita guests, but surprisingly, many never use it. However, those guests that are only here for a night or two have priority fire pit access since there are so many other days we can use it. Please enjoy the comfy space directly outside your suite anytime.
