We had a wonderful stay at Mike’s place. It is so peaceful and beautiful. Lots of wildlife, and open spaces for walking and cycling. We particularly enjoyed sitting on the back porch in the evening watching the fireflies. It was an easy drive into Madison for the CrossFit Games and to the shops in Verona, Mike and his wife were lovely-extremely helpful and friendly, even bringing us fresh produce from the farm. The house itself was cool and spacious. There’s a big dining table so we could have family meals together and an excellent washing machine and tumble dryer which the athletes in our family really appreciated. The nature and space also helped them de-stress. It was the perfect place for us and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet space in nature but close to the City.

This is a hidden gem in the heart of southwest Wisconsin! Mike and family could not be more gracious hosts! They make you feel like a member of the family with their genuine hospitality, even dropping off fresh vegetables from the garden and offering tours of their amazing hydroponic farm on the property. I grew up on a farm, and it was such an amazing treat to get to spend time in this idyllic setting while we waited for remodeling to be completed on our home. The location is perfect. Feels private and remote, but is only 10 minutes from Verona and nearby shopping. Easy access to Highway 151 and Madison. Best of both worlds! The 135-year-old farmhouse itself is incredibly charming and has been beautifully restored, remodeled and appointed. A stone's throw from the Badger State Trail bike path and within an easy listen of the charming chickens. Like getting to be a farmer for a couple of months without any of the work! Highly highly recommend.
