Welcome to Olive Cottage a charming early 1900's weatherboard railway workers cottage, situated in the heart of Exeter village in the Southern Highlands of NSW. With a small population and an iconic General Store Cafe, Monthly Markets, Historic Railway Station and Antique store. The village is set amongst quaint timber cottages, rural farmland and grand estates. Our home is your home. Be comfortable. Make this space your own. Stay + Relax + Enjoy !! xx Olive Cottage is just short stroll away from the iconic Exeter General Store for your morning coffee with delicious eat in and take away meals available. To support our local general store + cafe we do not have a coffee machine and encourage all our guests to visit for their coffee fix. You will love it as much as we do !! Olive Cottage is an ideal location to stay while visiting local wineries, brigadoon, tulip time, weddings, hens weekends, bowral classic cycle event, golf events, highland food trails, and all the highlands has to offer including antique stores and amazing restaurants and wineries. Or just a great spot to chill relax recharge + do nothing xx This gorgeous weatherboard cottage has all the typical raw country features with a touch of warmth + comfort. There are 2 bedrooms sleeping 4 guests on 2 luxurious Tommy Bahama king beds with all natural linens. The fireplace is a real feature in winter and there are beautiful shady trees in the mature garden to enjoy in summer. A great place to unwind + relax with a glass or 2 of some amazing local wines + food. Beautiful cottage with thoughtful additions and a huge fenced yard! It had everything we needed for a long weekend in the Southern Highlands. Close to the Exeter train station for easy access and a stroll away from the Exeter General Store for great coffee and brunch.
Awesome place for a weekend away with our toddler and 🐶. Couldn’t recommend it more. Kim was an amazing host.

A beautiful cottage in a great location! We loved every minute of our stay at 'Olive.' Kim was a fabulous host and so lovely to communicate with. She took extra steps to make our stay all the more enjoyable by providing us with delicious treats and a very nice bottle of wine. We will definitely stay here again and will look forward to it!
We had an amazing stay at Olive!! The cottage is so beautiful and clean. There are gorgeous surprises in every room and the garden is a great place to unwind and relax. Kim was so easy to communicate with and the special treats and touches that we discovered when we arrived was so thoughtful and amazing. We definitely recommend and look forward to coming back some day soon.

It’s time to experience our English heritage. This thriving village is home to a large number of English style estates, gorgeous old cottages, a picture postcard historic stone church and country railway station as well as an amazing general store + cafe just moments from Olive Cottage.
Exeter markets is also held on the first Saturday of each month from 9.00-1.30 pm. It's an amazing country market with a vibrant community of makers, producers and sellers in one of the most beautiful settings in the NSW Southern Highlands.
Exeter is an easy drive halfway between Sydney and Canberra.
Free parking onsite at Olive Cottage for 2 cars.
Olive Cottage is a short flat walk to Exeter Heritage Railway Station with Sydney-Canberra services each day.
