You want to be adventurous… but maybe not that adventurous. If you’ve peed in the woods a few times, but hate the sweat and back pain that come with a sleeping bag, you’re in good company. That’s why we created Dappled Light, so that you can enjoy outdoor adventures for everyday people. Our top-rated luxury glamping tents make getting outside easy, approachable and rejuvenating. Surrounded by over 50 acres of national forest, including countless onsite activities and local attractions, you’ll be able to enjoy all of the adventure you want during the day and return to comfortable, cozy lodging at night. Our luxury glamping tents are thick enough to ensure that you stay nice and cozy, but allow light to diffuse throughout the whole tent. Each tent is made from incredibly heavy-duty canvas and have been rigorously field-tested by hikers, outdoors people, and hunters in every climate. We did a lot of research to make sure we landed on tents we felt good about putting you in! This space includes: - 1 King Bed - 1 Sleeper Sofa (must supply your own pillows and blankets) - Privacy Flaps - Private sitting area - Cots Available (must supply your own pillows and blankets) - Large 65qt Cooler (must bring your own ice) Additional amenities include: - Private Front Porch - Canopy Views - On-site Bathhouse (with toilet, sink, and hot shower) - Outdoor Nets to climb/play on - Electricity! - Shared fire pit - Outdoor Water Spigot (for drinking water) ** Our tents are semi-off-grid, which means no plumbing or water inside, however, there is electricity, heating, lights, and water from an outdoor spigot. We also have a fully on-grid bathhouse with septic, electricity, and instant hot water** ** NOTE: If you need to sleep more than a king-sized bed and sleeper sofa can hold, let us know! I highly recommend staying here if your looking for a quite get away . It’s surrounded by amazing scenery . The inside of the ten was breathtaking , it’s actually like your staying in a 5 star hotel . We couldn’t get over with how responsive and friendly our host Issac was . He not only went above and beyond with our tent , he offered great recommendations on dining options . This was a great refresh weekend that we desperately needed . We will be staying again very soon . I can’t stress enough on the beauty of the inside of the tent . I even asked where all the bedding came from, so I can incorporate it in my own home . If it’s just a romantic get away or an outing with the whole family you will not be disappointed . You have 50 acres of Forrest to explore . So don’t walk but run and book your stay !
This was exactly what we were looking for! We’ve lived in KY all our life but this was our first visit to the Gorge. I would 1000000% recommend the Dappled Light facilities. Especially if you kind of want the camping experience but not all the hassle of lugging your own stuff plus have the convenience of electricity and heat. The bathrooms were so clean and well maintained and the kids over the rope play area. It was great for traveling with our dog. The owner and facility managers were super nice to deal with. They went out of our way to make sure we had a wonderful experience. I’m all about communication and they made me feel at ease and happy with our choice. I’m not big on camping at all but was totally down with the glamping experience. The kids loved it and the facility really couldn’t have been better for what we were looking for!
It was exactly what I had expected. Glamping experience that the whole family enjoyed. Private, clean, and top notch all around. The bathrooms were extremely clean as well which was a pleasant surprise. Tip: make sure you have a truck or SUV to get in and around the property.
Beautiful place! Can’t wait to go back!

On most of the 50 acres, you won't see anything man-made. This creates a fully immersive experience for you. Also, you’ll be on privately owned property with designated hiking trails (map included); please hike, explore, and allow yourself to be free!
* There are other guests that you’ll be sharing the 50 acres with, so don’t free yourself completely, if you know what we mean *
The property also has tons of natural features. The tents sit atop a giant horseshoe of cliff-edges; as you explore, you’ll find sweeping, scenic views of our valley, a waterfall, natural rock overhangs, creeks, and acres more of wildlife!
If you need to get off-property and want to do some fun, local activities, we’re within minutes of local attractions like world-class climbing and hiking, ziplining, underground kayaking (yeah, you heard us), horseback riding, and so many more things! Not to mention all of the wonderful local restaurants you can visit -- don’t worry, we’ve sampled them all and have listed our top 5 in the guestbook and on our website.
