Our family of 5 had an an amazing stay at Ioanna’s. The house is not a new and modern apartment designed for tourists but a traditional Greek home with character and charm. Some of the amenities are a bit basic eg cooking and washing up, but it didn’t take away from the enjoyment. The 5th and 6th beds are sofa’s in the living room but they are very comfortable. The location is stunning and the full length veranda is the perfect place to enjoy the view and a glass of wine watching the sunset. The property is on a quiet beach and we had it all to ourselves a number of times. It was perfect for swimming and plenty of fish to see snorkelling. The property is within walking distance of a number of taverna’s and restaurants with friendly owners and good food. Ioanna was a perfect host, meeting us at the beginning and end of our stay. The best thing about this property is the location. You can really get out of bed and swim in the most beautiful clear water. The ample terrace is a perfect place to spend a lot of time. The views are stunning. The apartment, if a bit basic, is perfectly adequate for most people's needs. Another advantage of the Van Dor Sea House is that it is close to a very nice, organised beach attached to a good taverna. The water there is equally as enticing, sandy and safe. We had a great time and would definitely recommend staying there. Ioanna was the perfect host: very helpful and easy to contact should there be any queries. Michael

We had a really special vacation at Ioanna's house, I want to send my gratitude to Ioanna and the girls for this experience. It was wonderful. The house is really authentic, it's not new but from the first step you notice it's much loved by its owners, it was clean and supplied with everything we might need. Million dollar views from literally every corner of the house are included. Lovely wild beach is just in front of the house and Vagia beach is just a few steps away. You can go swimming straight from your bed, spend hours reading on the bench in front of the house or enjoy sitting on the terrace which was our favorite place at the property. You cannot beat closeness to the sea, closer to the sea would be in the sea. There are several lovely tavernas in the neighborhood, however the closest supermarket is 2km away. We rented a car for a couple of days to explore the island and do all the necessary grocery shopping, it was totally worth it. If you are into loud parties and glamorous places, this house isn't for you (probably Aegina is the wrong island for you). But if you are looking for a special place by the sea to recharge your battery away from loud crowds, run, don't walk.
