PLEASE READ: EXTRA FOR OVER 2 GUEST this house has 2 bedrooms. Your welcome to the entire 1st floor. No basement access. or access to the upstairs area (private area). Your booking gives you plenty of quiet space for the buck. Its not the Hilton Inn, but its reasonable, fair & clean. *This place sits about a half of a mile west of E. Jefferson. Historical Block (Ossian H. Sweet House)* The property is monitored 24 hours daily. I lived in this property for over 5 years. It is nice & cozy. Most residents in the area are low income.. Yet, the neighborhood has a rich history, with many historical landmarks and cultural attractions. The city also boasts excellent educational opportunities and a thriving economy. Residents of this area enjoy access to some of Detroit's best restaurants, shopping and entertainment venues. With its vibrant nightlife scene (especially on Jefferson Avenue), it's no wonder that 48214 Detroit has become one of the most desirable places to live in Michigan. The community offers plenty of outdoor activities like hiking in Belle Isle Park or exploring the nearby downtown area, making it a great place for families. Overall, living in 48214 Detroit is an amazing opportunity for those looking for a unique yet dynamic lifestyle experience.
It was fine. Easy to get to LCA and back. We left an Ice Cube lighter to go with your knick knacks. Thank you.
This was a perfect location for me on what I had to do for my stay in Detroit. The only issue I had was that the kitchen sick had food in it, oven had old bake potatoes in the oven and the shower was not clean out. Other than that everything about the house was ok, not a bad place to stay.
Many of the residences in this neighborhood are relatively historic, built no later than 1939, and in some cases, quite a bit earlier. A number of residences were also built between 1940 and 1969. This neighborhood still stands out as unique due to the dominance of people living here who work in fast-food service workers, major sales accounts, and sales.
Tips for driving in Detroit
Driving is how most people explore the Motor City and it's still the quickest, easiest way to cover Detroit’s vast expanse. Traffic flows fairly smoothly, especially if you avoid I-94 and I-75, the major highways slicing through town. Five major avenues fan out from downtown to the suburbs: Gratiot, Michigan, Grand River, Jefferson and Woodward. If you ever get lost, hop on one of these thoroughfares and it’ll bring you downtown.
The rush hours every morning (7am to 9am) and evening (4pm to 6pm) are busy but the roads rarely grind to a halt. Parking is widely available and cheap ($2 to $5 per hour) compared to other big cities, both on the street and in parking lots.
If you plan to hire a car on arrival, the usual international hire firms are represented at Detroit Metro Airport.
