We had an absolutely beautiful stay at Belquis’ place in Filicudi. On the one hand the description is completely accurate and tells you everything you need to know about this amazing place and how it is reached (we loved the walk and it became a lovely part of the daily routine), on the other no description or photos can really do justice to quite how special it is. We stayed for a week, spending a lot of time just soaking up the house, stunning views and quiet. The whole place feels so welcoming and well considered, Belquis has an amazing eye and a great sense for what is both aesthetic and comfortable. Belquis herself was an incredibly gracious and helpful host, full of recommendations for the island and could not have been more welcoming or hospitable. She even helped us with a fantastic restaurant recommendation for Palermo on the return trip. We fell in love with the house, its terraces and the surrounding land and we’re already thinking of a return trip. It was magical.

Le refuge est à 40min de randonnée de la route. Le sentier est escarpé et potentiellement dangereux. Voyagez léger, la mule ne portera pas tout ! Les choses basculent vite en utilisant peu d’équipements électriques (un ventilateur, le réfrigérateur et une ampoule pour dîner). L’électricité se coupe, Belquis revient 2h après pour allumer un générateur au bruit de moteur assourdissant et à l’odeur de pot d’échappement. Notre tranquillité et la préservation de l’environnement écologique sont compromis. Notre première soirée est gâchée, avec une température caniculaire sans ventilateur. Le lendemain, le scénario recommence, sans électricité. La nourriture du réfrigérateur est jetée, pas de ventilateurs, pas de lumière, pas internet. Nous rallumons le générateur avec les mêmes nuisances. Épuisés, nous nous accordons avec Belquis de régler les nuitées passées et qu’elle rembourse le reste du séjour. Elle reviendra sur son engagement refusant cet accord et Airbnb a tranché en notre faveur.

La casa di Belquis è un posto davvero magico, immerso nella bellezza e nei suoni della natura. Posizionata su un promontorio, in un vecchio e affascinante villaggio abbandonato e in una delle zone più tranquille e più suggestive dell’isola, la casa si raggiunge soltanto a piedi attraverso un sentiero dalla vista mozzafiato in circa trenta minuti. Caldamente consigliata a chi ama passeggiare e cerca un rifugio di “Luxe, Calme et Volupté”. Gli interni e gli esterni della casa sono estremamente curati e in perfetta sintonia con la rilassata eleganza dell’isola. Belquis è stata un’eccellente padrona di casa, estremamente gentile e disponibile. Sogniamo già di tornare prestissimo!
