Casa da Praia is a beautifully decorated/furnished house with great views of the ocean and surrounding countryside. It is very well-equipped with plenty of linens/towels (including ones for the beach) and kitchenware. The house book is the best we've ever seen, with great recommendations and, best of all, instructions for how to use all the appliances, which is something we don't often see but always hope for! The beds were very comfortable and there was plenty of hot water/pressure for all our needs. Excellent location with easy street parking for our car and a short walk to the beach. The only surprise was that the half bathroom wasn't in the house, but up an exterior flight of stairs by the pool. Nelson was an friendly and helpful communicator and everything, including check-in, went very smoothly. Casa da Praia is an excellent base for exploring the beautiful island of Santa Maria, including the waterfalls, hiking trails, forests, beaches and the capital, Vila do Porto.

By far, the nicest Air BnB I’ve stayed in so far. The house is incredible. Very big, very charming with a mix of modern and cultural charm. The place was spotless and had everything we needed. Plenty of bedding, towels, beach towels, toiletries and more than we could possibly need. They thought of every small detail, including electric socket converters which came in handy. The views from this home can not be beat! Absolutely breathtaking. You can see and hear the ocean from the wrap-around patio and the Mountain View’s are stunning also (with some cows as neighbors). If we visit Santa Maria again (which is likely, considering we have family there), no doubt, I would stay at Nelson’s place again.
