The Solarium room is beautiful and it gets nice sunlight during the day. However, the view is not great. You face the street which gets often weird street traffic of people screaming and overall I must say I didn't feel safe leaving the house after dark. The place wasn't immaculately clean since there were many 'dust webs' and hair in many places. On the floor, on the armchairs and also on the bed sheets. I don't question the sheets not being laundered but perhaps they caught some hair in the dryer so it would be advisable to use a lintroller prior to a guest's arrival. Also, the bed has a plastic cover on the mattress which I had never experienced before so it felt very odd sleeping on it. I guess it is to prevent stains on the mattress...The bathroom lamp wasn't working so I got a standing lamp to use. The shower is great and works nicely. But the bathroom is not that clean and the drain of the sink was clogged. Overall, the house is old so you hear everything which is annoying.

Overall had a good stay here. The solarium room is beautiful, but the house is very old and not well kept. There is a mini fridge and coffee pot in the room but the house doesn’t really have a kitchen or any amenities. The floors are extremely creaky with thin walls. There are some permanent tenants in the house, and you can hear everything happening in the rooms upstairs… However Assaf was kind and welcoming, and even though the neighborhood doesn’t feel the safest it is a quick drive away from Beacon if that’s where you’re looking to spend time.

The solarium room was a beautiful place to stay, however we didn’t feel the safest. There is a door in the bathroom that leads to the hallway with a broken doorknob, so that didn’t make us feel very secure. We were also told to lock the front door upon entering, that it doesn’t lock automatically, but could hear people coming in and out late at night, leaving us to wonder if the other guests were being sure to lock up. It is also the site of a social services agency called Exodus, which upon research told us helps formerly incarcerated people re-enter the community. Wonderful organization, but again didn’t lead us to feel the safest staying there! We also pulled the comforter back to reveal a lot of hair in the sheets, making us wonder how well it was cleaned before our stay. Other than that it was nice!

We would stay here again. The property matched our expectations based on the photos and description. Simple, clean, and spacious room. Street parking was easy to manage.

Assaf is a kind & responsive host. He was hospitable & created a positive environment. I had an excellent stay at The Solarium Room. The room is beautiful and spacious. All amenities are easily accessible, and the vibe is artistic. The neighborhood is lovely, and Assaf gave helpful advice about exploring the area. The host & accommodations are 10/10 and I highly recommend this Airbnb!
