We had a great stay at Jon and Kendra‘s place. The place is decorated beautifully and the backyard is totally welcoming. We didn’t have much time, but if we had more time, we definitely would’ve enjoyed the hot tub in the back patio. Also, the cute little fire pit in the front yard. This particular trip was important for us to have dog friendly places. This place was dog friendly in the back and in the house. The front yard, although fenced was not great to let our dog out in because there are multiple gates for other guests that could be opened and they wouldn’t know there was a dog there. Also, the neighbors had a lot of big dogs (German shepherds and pits) and had them in their front yards off leash so we couldn’t really walk our dog. There was a trail nearby, but it had a lot of broken glass in the dirt and grassy areas where my dog would typically want to go to the bathroom. That said, besides the dog walkabikity issue, we loved this place and would stay again.
Jon and Kendra were wonderful hosts. They are both kind and attentive! The house itself is stunning. The design details are beautiful! Also, everything is fully stocked—water, coffee, even a couple beers and wine. Love! Love! Love!
First time visiting Albuquerque and I’m so glad I got to stay in the Prickly Pear. Such a lovely home close to Old Town, the zoo, and many other fun places and great restaurants (go to The Shop for breakfast). Zero complaints and I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thank you!
Extremely lovely home, exactly as pictured. The kitchen was well stocked and special touches were greatly appreciated after a long drive. Did not have a chance to use the outdoor jacuzzi but backyard space was well designed and relaxing. Highly recommend and will definitely stay again when visiting ABQ.
Barelas is a historic inner-city neighborhood of Albuquerque. It is located immediately south of Downtown. It was originally a separate village absorbed into Albuquerque during the railroad-fueled growth of the 1880s, but still retains a distinct identity. Established in 1662, it is the oldest city in ABQ.
