Our neighborhood was a fishing village built mostly in the 1950's. It has a mix of houses, from simple cabins, to opulent beach-front homes. We are on Whidbey Island, whose motto is "The Shortest Distance to Far Away". We're only a short drive from the Seattle area, but as soon as you cross the ferry, the setting changes from dense urban and suburban development, to Whidbey Island's unique eclectic rural character. Our neighborhood, which is only a short drive from the ferry terminal, is quintessential Whidbey.

Whidbey Island is a rural community, so it's easiest to get around by car. There is a public bus service, Island Transit, which is free for everyone, but service is infrequent and the routes are fairly sparse. While we don't have Uber or Lyft on the south end of the island, there is a traditional taxi service named All Island Express Taxi. Give them a call if you need a ride.
