Walter’s is an idyllic beach house perched on a hill, offering north facing views overlooking the beautiful Shelly Beach and beyond. With the canvas of blue stretching out to the horizon, it’s easy to see why this quiet cul-de-sac location was named Azure Street. Salty air and the sounds of the sea set the tone for your coastal vacation and Walter's is a place you'll be returning to time and time again. If you're looking for a beautifully stylish beach shack overlooking the coast, Walter's is your answer. Not only is it fully fenced and pet-friendly, but the views from the large back deck are truly breath-taking. The upper level has a large balcony, open plan living room, and two good sized bedrooms, which both offer ocean views from the comfy queen sized beds. Sea views are present throughout the upstairs level - even, ahem, from the loo. The lower level has two bedrooms (one with two singles and the other a double), and a lounge nook ideal for reading a good book. A few minutes stroll along a footpath leads you to the lifeguard-patrolled Shelly Beach, with fantastic surf breaks, rock pools and a few excellent cafes and restaurants. A five minute drive and you'll find yourself in Ballina CBD if you're chasing a dose of reality.

The location is amazing, short stroll to two restaurants and beaches. furnishings and decor were lovely, beds comfy. However, left a bit to be desired in making for a comfortable stay for 6 adults and 2 kids. The fridge is teeny, we had to purchase an esky and leave all fruit and veg on the tiny bench tops, really not even big enough for a family of 4 to last a few days. Kitchen is well equipped, however zero pantry, so all benches had to hold food. The second BR (queen) has no storage whatsoever, just a few wall hooks and a sheer gausy window covering so your neighbours can see you at night and the sun pours in at 4.30am, ocean view was lovely though. There are posts for a shade cloth, but no shade on the only outdoor area making it unusable in the day. Not a grain of salt, no dishwasher tabs/ detergent, coffee machine but not a single pod, 1 teaspoon of sugar, no dish scrubber/ scourer, not a drop of body wash/ shampoo upstairs… more thought put into a 3 star motel.

The scenic coastal walk and cycle path runs from North Wall to Sharpes Beach and all the way to Lennox Head. Other local activities also abound.
Carved by the Richmond River and North Creek, Ballina is a sleepy coastal town on the North Coast of NSW and is the perfect union of long, uncrowded Pacific beaches, tidal bays, fertile valleys and a forward-thinking food scene. Not to mention the Big Prawn, erected in 1989 and telling a mouth-watering story of regional produce.
Walter’s is conveniently located just 10 minutes drive from Ballina / Byron airport. The location is a fantastic launchpad to the attractions of the northern rivers, including Lennox Head (10 mins), Byron Bay (30 mins), and the expansive hinterland.
