If walking is what you like to do, then this is the area for you with many footpaths leading to the rolling countryside, and is a great place to get your two wheels on the many cycle routes. The edge of Rutland Water is only 2 miles away and is a great day out for everyone; for the adrenaline seekers, have a go at sailing, canoeing, windsurfing, golf, mini golf and rock climbing. Or for the more sedate, there are many walks, great places for fishing or spotting the local birds from the bird watching centre at the nature reserves. Cycling is also very popular in the surrounding area. The market towns of Oakham, Uppingham and Stamford are close by and they all have a range of shops, pubs, tea rooms and restaurants.
