The place needs maintenance and restoration

The place is quiet and peaceful. Food was delicious and coffee was great! One of the few resorts that serves free flowing coffee that is very good.

Beautiful place to stay! We will be back for sure. Tranquil, very good food, right next to the ocean and personable friendly and hospitable owners. Our tree house stay with the amazing views exceeded our expectations!

The staff at birdland resort were really nice. That was the only positive thing on our experience. The place is not taken cared of. Everything is falling apart or already have fallen apart. We rented this and another room that is bigger made of rocks. Our room was too hot. The air conditioner is not working they had to give us extra 2 but even so was not enough. We felt like oven inside. The TV isn’t working. They even turned the water off without notifying us at night so it was a struggle to shower and even brush your teeth. It was raining that night and water was dripping from the roof. We literally had to move our beds around to find a dry spot. The menu for the food was ridiculous. Too expensive. The pasta dishes also has a separate fee for the vegetables and meat. I understand that some may not want specific ingredients but the price to add in with the separate pasta price is unreasonable. For the free meals, they don’t even ask you what you want they just serve whatever is available I guess. It was sad that I expected so much for my family to enjoy. And the doorknob was also jammed one time, I had to go out of the window just to open the lock from the outside. The double locks aren’t working as well.

The host, Michael, was communicative and helpful in providing us the details we need before our trip. At first, I was hesitant to book the place as it was a new listing. I chanced upon one photo and was able to see more details on their socmed page and it attracted me to book the Balifugao kubo. We drove more than 5 hours to get to the place and it was totally worth it. Maps are accurate and once you went off the hi-way, there are signages that will lead you to the resort. Though it’s new on airbnb, the resort was built years back and there are kubos that were damaged by previous typhoons that needs restoration and improvements. But that didn’t change the calm and relaxing vibes of the resort. You will get a perfect view of the sunset while enjoying the sea breeze. We did not swim at the beach as there are a lot of sea grasses. There are swimming pools too in case you really want to swim. The balifugao kubo we stayed at was clean, it has its own cr on the ground floor, hammock at the 2nd floor and the sleeping area at the 3rd. Mattresses and pillows are clean and comfy to use, it also has kulambo you can use to avoid insect bites but I recommend that you use insect repellent lotion if you don’t like sleeping under the kulambo. There’s a fan provided and outlets for charging your gadgets. Going up and down the kubo can be a little challenge, i suggest the gaps for each step can be made smaller and the planks broader. They have a restaurant where you can order your food and drinks. Each order is good for sharing. There’s a corkage fee for bringing in food and drinks. But you can bring snacks and mineral water. The staffs are accommodating and helpful too. You can also visit Bolinao Falls which is 30mins away from the resort. We were able to enjoy our swim there and the coffee of Kopi Kubo which us owned by the host too. We really love your place, Michael. Thank you! Looking forward to visiting again.
