We stayed at Jelena's apartment for more than a month. It is a classic Soviet era apartment in the very nice Agenskalns neighborhood. When guests aren't there Jelena lives in the apartment, and we felt this in the limited amount of space for our things. As three adults and a baby, it was a challenge to find enough room for our things in closets and cabinets. The apartment had been tidied up before we got there but not professionally cleaned; when we wiped table tops or the floor they were sometimes sticky and the napkin was sometimes dark from dust. I mention this because there is a cleaning fee included, but when we left (having tidied up as we usually do) Jelena was upset we had not done a thorough cleaning of the apartment. We also noted that the couch noticeably smelled of cat urine, though we were glad the apartment was pet friendly as our dog lived with us there.

The apartment is in a Soviet era apartment building in a working-class neighborhood surrounded by trees. Quiet during the night. Easy walk to Old town Riga.
