Very kind and responsive management, no complaints. Very "hotel like", with mini fridge and semi private bathrooms. Multiple levels of physical security in the building. plentiful parking. charming neighborhood! highly recommend!

I stayed here for 3 nights while visiting with a friend. My stay was fantastic. The building isn't the newest, but the room I stayed in was updated and as comfortable as a regular hotel room, if not more comfortable. Check-in was easy and the staff was helpful and incredibly hospitable. There is a shared bathroom with another room but that didn't seem to be a problem during my stay. There is also access to a kitchen area and washer/dryer. This was an amazing stay and I would definitely stay here again. Thank you so much for the great visit!

My opinion of the Brookside Manor is that it is not a fancy place, and I do not believe they try to sell it as one, but it is still deserving of five stars. If you are looking for a place that is more reasonably priced than some of the other airbnbs in the Boston area I believe this one is worth a look. You get all the basics that you need a room, bathroom, and kitchen accommodations. And all of these things are in good order and have full service. Our experience was that the communication at the Brookside Manor was excellent. Lori, the assistant manager, answered all of our questions and concerns completely and in a very timely manner. Yes, there is a shared bathroom situation with an adjacent room and the kitchen is shared. No one tried to sell us on a situation that was any different than that. We knew exactly what we were walking into. We had absolutely no problems in those two areas and actually found quite a few of the guests staying there to be quite friendly and helpful. As far as some of the negative reviews on the internet about the Brookside Manor my opinion is this: I believe that the owner and workers at this establishment try to use common sense and be respectful of others and their things. Based on the signs that are up in the shared bathroom and shared kitchen, I would say that the owners also request that the guests use common sense and are respectful of the owner's property and other's things. I just feel that perhaps that sets the bar a little too high for some of the people that have stayed at the Brookside Manor. As far as suggestions are concerned I can only think of two and they are minimal. It looked like there was a box in the ceiling where there was a light over the bed. If this is true they might want to consider putting in a ceiling fan. One with no light. It was not warm enough for us to run the air conditioner in the night but without some type of fan the open window wasn't enough. But the air conditioner ran fine and we had no problems. The other suggestion might be a tub liner. They are working to update the tubs at the Brookside Manor and having trouble with that. Perhaps a tub liner will just slide over the existing tub. Then you could caulk between the existing tub and the wall liner that is already up. Problem solved.
