Horning, a picturesque village with riverside inns, restaurants, a selection of small shops and tea shops, is well worth a visit. The area is criss-crossed by numerous footpaths and cycling trails, and there is the excellent sandy beach of Sea Palling 11½ miles away. Well worth a visit is the grey seal colony at Horsey Gap Beach; between the months of December and February there are hundreds of seal pups on the beach. For the children, visit BeWILDerwood, an outdoor adventure park at Horning, Wroxham Barns or Wroxham Miniature Worlds, the largest indoor modelling attraction in the UK. Alternatively, jump on the train or bus and spend the day in the fine city of Norwich with its cathedral, castle museum, two indoor shopping malls, cinema complexes, theatre and an array of shops, market square and cafés.
