This area is renowned for its outdoor pursuits and offers a large range of sports and outdoor activities, including winter sports, hill walking, climbing, mountaineering, fishing and water sports, mountain biking and golfing. Both Glencoe Mountain Resort and Fort William, known as the ‘Outdoor capital of the UK’, are only a short drive. Travel on the West Highland Steam Train (as depicted in the Harry Potter movie) to Mallaig, crossing the famous Glenfinnan Viaduct, or visit some of the unspoilt beaches, castles, museums, and distilleries. Boat trips to the inner isles including Mull and Iona are easily accessible, or take a day exploring the Ardnamurchan Peninsula.
