The cottage was lovely! Just what you expect a lake cottage to be. The view from the window overlooking the lake was beautiful. Douglas was very friendly and met us there shortly after we arrived. He gave us a few recommendations for things to do in the area. The cottage was very clean and the kitchen had everything you would need to prepare meals. Be sure to bring blankets with you, as well as all your linens. The bathroom was small , and to accommodate up to 7 people another bathroom downstairs would be beneficial. We loved the screened in porch! They also had a patio with a chiminea that was very cozy on cooler nights. We enjoyed our stay, and hope to return again next year.

Boater's paradise. We rented on Donnell Lake. The place was perfect for our family. we could use the main area while our grown children slept in down in the walkout basement area. We are already planning for next year. Fishing is great, 1st cast off the dock and caught a 12" bass. Boating - island area is just in front of the property. the area south of the island is sandy. there were about 25 boats anchored over the weekend to swim and enjoy the sun. Pickleball - Penn township in downtown Vandalia just installed new courts.
