西米德兰兹郡 · 联排别墅里的独立房间 · 1室2床1.0卫 · 可住2人 · Solihull/Birmingham/NEC-Attic in Friendly homestay
Welcome to your Birmingham attic room on the top floor of our Edwardian townhouse in a residential suburb of Birmingham. Free street parking outside the clean air zone and easy train and bus links to the City Centre and Solihull in 6 minutes. You can get to the NEC by bus in half an hour, by car or uber in 20 minutes, or by train, if you change at Birmingham Moor Street, then go to Birmingham International from Birmingham New Street. Helen, Andy, Steve and two cats live here. This large attic room with sloping ceilings and chimneypot views is tucked away on the top floor of a 100-year-old Edwardian Townhouse, so you need to be able to climb two flights of stairs! A fan has been provided in the room in case of heat waves. The house is shared with me, Andy and Steve, and my two cats. There are also a couple of other guest rooms. If you need additional accommodation for your group, please message me before booking, and I will let you know if any of the other rooms are available for the dates you want, and send you the link if we can help. The top floor bathroom is shared between the 3 rooms on the top floor.
Helen was a lovely host and it was a reasonable distance from the Resorts World Arena and NEC (40 mins at most through public transport, if not less by taxi service). Overall, lovely stay and it was super clean and accessible.
Helen was very quick to respond to messages and welcoming when we arrived. The room was clean and nicely decorated so it was cosy. The bathroom was nice too and we made use of the kitchen. Her cats are also adorable.
Such a welcoming and comfortable home to home stay, very peaceful, well organised, excellent coffee and the room is beautiful, larger than I could tell from the photos, very tastefully furnished, spotless clean and super quality sleep in a very cozy bed. Helen took great care in providing for me some non dairy milk. Thank you Helen, I would most definitely return when visiting Birmingham.
Helen very friendly and helpful A nice quiet room after a long shift Bathroom nice and clean
Acocks Green is a busy residential inner city suburb of Birmingham home to families and people from all walks of life. There is a village centre with local shops, charity shops and supermarkets a 10 minute walk away and the Grand Union Canal is nearby for walkers and cyclists to explore.
However the best thing for travellers about the location is its train and bus connections to the rest of Birmingham. We have a station on the Chiltern line between London Marylebone, through Birmingham Moor Street and Snow Hill, outwards towards Malvern. We are also served by a major bus interchange, with buses going to and from the city centre until past midnight, and also the circular 11 A and C buses that go Anticlockwise and Clockwise around the city, connecting us to places around Birmingham such as Moseley for the Tolkein festival, and Harbourn for the Cricket Stadium.
We are outside the Clean Air Zone, so you can park your car on the street, and take public transport to your city centre venue without getting hit by the charges.
There are a few local restaurants on the high street and a couple of pubs including a weatherspoons, and you can get most kinds of takaway delivered using Deliveroo or Uber Eats.
My home is 4 minutes walk from Acocks Green train station, and 10 minutes from the Acocks Green bus interchange so you can easily get around Birmingham by public transport and avoid the need to drive through the clean air zone in the city centre.
Solihull: 6 minutes by train or 20 minutes by #4 bus.
Birmingham City Centre: 6 minutes by train or 20 minutes by #4 bus.
NEC/Airport: 25 minutes by bus (1 x 5 minutes #11A to Swan Island, and 1 x 20 minutes X1), or train to Birmingham Moor Street, 5-minute walk to Birmingham Central, and then train to Birmingham International for the NEC and the Airport (usually about 50 minutes with changes), or 15 minutes by Uber.
Uber is also available usually with less than a 5-minute wait.
West Midlands Buses take contactless payment cards or require exact change for cash - no change is given.
Train tickets can be bought at the station office or ticket machine or online.
Parking on the street is possible, but it is a busy street. You can also park at the train station park and ride, which is 5 minutes walk away.
Please also be aware there is now a clean air zone in Birmingham centre, with daily charges for driving there so I advise using public transport if possible.
I am happy to help with route planning if you let me know where you need to go.
自我介绍
I am a fairly quiet person but I do enjoy getting to know people one on one. I enjoy reading, cooking, and good conversations. I speak English, and I am also learning Spanish, French and German although I am not fluent in these I will be able to understand a little if you speak slowly. For everything else there is Google Translate, so you are welcome wherever you are from, and whatever language you speak. I'm not a big one for going out to parties, although I enjoy concerts (classical and various others), films and theatre. You are welcome to enjoy the night life in Birmingham during your visit, but I probably won't come along :) I live here with two house cats and sometimes take care of pets when their owners are away so there will be furry friends in the house if you stay with us. I have a co-host called Andy, and a couple of long term guests and sometimes volunteers in the house who will all be happy to help if you need anything. It is still fairly a quiet and friendly home as there is plenty of space for us all. If you wish to bring a pet, please let me know so I can check with any other residents who will be here. As a guest I'm quiet, independent and house-trained, but happy to chat to you if you have time.
