The stay was nice as it matched the description. The best part was the food provided by the neighbouring family. Both their vegetarian and non-vegetarian preparations were extra ordinary tasty. The host was really responsive and helpful during our stay.

To find a stay as quaint as this in Honnavar would be tough. It even smells like an old home which took me back to my childhood trips to Kerala tharavadus. The couple who stays there are an elderly and very well read with accomplished academic careers and beyond. We spent an hour with aunty amid her books while she shared bits of her knowledge with us. We plan to stay in touch :) The neighbours provide some delicious food and were supremely kind and nice. We are most of our meals there even while we were spending the day out. A hiccup I felt while there was the fact that the room and bathroom didn't feel like they had been prepared or cleaned for a guest's stay. Please note they weren't dirty but they weren't clean too. And there wasn't any caretaker, and it just felt wrong to voice it out to aunty, and since it was manageable, we winged it. Everything else was good.

I had a fantastic few days here. The room is spacious and the air-conditioning was a lifesaver. The old couple who live downstairs are extremely welcoming and made me feel at home. The old lady took time to teach me about the area's cultural history and even showed me an amazing lookout spot that was only a short walk from the home. I definitely recommend this place especially if you are after a more authentic Airbnb experience that still provides all the comforts needed.

very good property m but it's not modern and should not expect much amenities out there. location is remote and one needs a private vehicle to access with ease. host was kind enough to give space for placing the luggage. however my wife was not able to use the washroom in the eve after checkout. that could have been allowed. but since host was not available and only caretaker was there, this might have happened. good for peace lovers and not for enthusiastic people.
