We absolutely loved staying here! Really lovely and dog friendly house, plenty of space, comfortable and had everything we needed! 2 minute walk down to the beach or the Ship Inn for a pint, would definitely stay again!
Great place to chill or explore from. Lots to see and do locally, finished off in the local restaurants. Thank you
The cottage had everything for a very comfortable stay. It was roomy, clean and lacked for nothing. It's a 2 minute walk to the beach and there is easy access to lots of walks. The view from Port Eynon Point is stunning but be very careful of the cliffs. We were lucky to have beautiful weather and the enclosed garden was perfect to sit and have coffee and pastries from the local café. It's also good if you have dogs or young children. The guests' information book was helpful. I wish we were able to stay longer to do some of the longer walks. Thanks Deb 😊
Great place to stay with our extended family. Private parking and close to the beach and coastal walks. We’d happily book again.
What a lovely house with plenty of space. It was spotlessly clean, extremely comfortable and well equipped - especially the magnificent kitchen. It had everything we needed. Even some welcome gifts which were appreciated greatly. Thank you We were only there for three nights for a short stay in order to walk a section of the Wales Coast Path and to walk across to Worms Head, both of which we did successfully. Though very windy, the weather was on the whole kind to us. Once communication with Debbie was made to sort out a problem with the internet, it was dealt with quickly and successfully. I would recommend a stay in this house. You will not be disappointed.
Designated the UK’s first Area of Outstanding National Beauty in 1956 – now renamed National Landscapes - the Gower Peninsula offers year-round holiday inspiration.
Whether it be Blue Flag bathing, miles of sand for building those sandcastles and exploring rockpools, promenades with coffee and dining options or those secluded gems off the beaten track where the chance to really unwind becomes a reality, its beaches have something for everyone.
For the more adventurous there are great surf breaks, coasteering adventures, rock climbing, pony trekking, paragliding, parachuting and an increasing number of world-renown ironman and trail events.
For the walkers – with or without the pet dog - there is the Gower and Wales Coastal path which lets you navigate the whole of the peninsula if you have the time or in bite-sized chunks with a good coffee or something to eat in between. Inland there are designated footpaths galore, such as up to the Beacon at Rhossili which gives sweeping views back to the bay and the Worms Head or head to Cefn Bryn and its neolithic burial ground.
Castles, golf courses, pick your own, crazy golf and outdoor concerts are just some of the other things to do and all and are complemented by a vibrant food and drink scene – from seasonal farmers markets, a Michelin starred restaurant, locally brewed craft beer, pubs, café’s, coffee shops, ice-cream, chip shops and everything else in between, après Gower has something for everyone!
The best way to get around is by car. There are buses which can be used; however, you will need to check running times.
There are car parks at, or close to, the Blue Flag beaches and the majority that serve the most popular beaches and other popular locations are all paid parking. Newer machines mean that you should be able to use your mobile to pay if you have no change; MiPermit app is also useful.
The better the weather the busier the most popular spots will get – this is the case all year round – so plan days out accordingly.
