Tubac · 整套客房 · 1室1床1.0卫 · 可住2人 · High Desert Getaway: The Habitat
Relax and enjoy this unique, tranquil getaway with stunning mountain views. The Habitat is a one-of-a-kind structure designed and built by acclaimed local metal sculpture artist, Lee Blackwell. Quiet, cozy space with high ceilings and abundant natural light. 1.5 miles from Tubac Village, an International Dark Sky Place, this location on 3 acres feels remote. Tubac lives up to its motto, "Where Art and History Meet." World-class birding, hiking, and mountain biking abound. The Habitat uniquely shaped structure with a small bedroom with a full size bed and small half-bath. It is located inside a metal fenced yard designed to keep critters out but not the views. The large glass front door and picture window along with the high ceiling give the inside a sense of spaciousness despite its small size. Inside there are two chairs and a small table. Outside there is a sitting area next to the water fountain with a couple of chairs and coffee table.
A beautiful getaway for any of your fulfillments with mother nature/peace and quiet. This place was a safe haven for my partner and I’s anniversary to celebrate our union. Even with a slight confusion with the appearance and distance of the Habitats placement from the hosts house, this place was still a very fulfilling experience and really grounded in a whole healthy space for a very special time. The hosts were extremely understanding, attentive, and friendly to provide as much privacy, spacing, and service at our stay. Thank you Skye and Jesse for opening up this beautiful space for people to share. It is truly a very unique spot! It’s sizing and simplicity extravagantly speaks for itself. Thank you 🙏🏽❤️
I enjoyed my stay in the Hideaway so much. It was peaceful and relaxing and so quiet - I slept so well! It was so close to Tubac and communicating with Skye was so easy. I enjoyed seeing his mother’s artwork - so very special!
The Habitat is located in the Upper Santa Cruz River Valley south of Tucson. The property, at 3,350' elevation, is pressed up against the delightful Tumacacori Mountains which rise another 3000' above you. The open landscape is covered by Upper Sonoran desert plants growing in abundance including small mesquite trees, shrubs, and a variety of cacti species. Wildlife include coyotes, foxes, deer, jackrabbits, bobcats, and javelina as well as several dozen species of birds. Lizards and other reptiles are active in the warmer months. Butterflies can be seen any month of the year.
Across the Valley to the east are the Santa Rita Mountains with Mount Hopkins and the Whipple Observatory at 8,500' and Mount Wrightson at 9,500'. A total of seven distinct mountain ranges are seen from the property.
The Habitat is located near the end of a private, one lane dirt road in a relatively undeveloped neighborhood West of Interstate 19. It feels rural because it is. With next to no immediate traffic the more distant traffic sounds are minimal to absent more often than not. Walking on the property or surrounding neighborhood is encouraged.
