Overall, we had a lovely stay with our 4 children under 6 (twin 1 year olds) Brandon got back to us right away and there were two highchairs and a pack n play which was great! Easy to find and close to downtown! Beautiful park and area surrounding the house. Cute and cozy historic home. Cons: It was hard to get in and out of the driveway during traffic hour because it is right off a busy street. Also could hear a lot of road noise at night and people walking by. I wouldn’t say it’s super baby friendly because there were Knick knacks that could get ripped down, and there’s nothing to block off the steep stairs and the rails are wide so kids could easily fall through, we had to watch them constantly to make sure they weren’t getting into anything. The laundry down in the basement was a little creepy but I can be over dramatic. Overall, I would stay there again, if you don’t have kids or mind going into a basement, it’s perfect
Really nice, big place for a big group. There were 6 of us and it felt extremely spacious. Very close to downtown and a fantastic walking park across the street. Really couldn't have been any nicer!
Brandon's house was huge, had plenty of space for us, and we were very comfortable. Everything was clean, aesthetic, and our stay was easy. The location is very convenient, easy to find, and check in was clear. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you!
The area is historic and is known as the Gaiety Hill / Bush Park neighborhood. The majority of homes are well-maintained English Cottage, Colonial, Cape Cod, Norman Farmhouse, and French Renaissance homes. It's fun to see and admire the older homes on your walk into Downtown Salem.
There is a great kid's park right across the street on the Salem Hospitals Campus. The Park is open to the public and is well kept.
Bush Park is another major highlight. Bush Park resulted from a land donation from the Bush family many years ago. The Bush museum and historic rose garden are just across the street from our house. Bush Park in total is over 90 acres. The Park includes paths, running trails, meadows, and White Oak groves. A couple of playgrounds dot the area, there is a soapbox racing hill, and pickup soccer or Ultimate Frisbee games can be found in summertime.
The neighborhood is South of the business/downtown district in Salem and is close to the Deepwood Estate Mansion, State Capitol, Salem's Amtrak Train Station, Willamette University, Salem Health Hospital, Pringle Park, and a bevy of restaurants, coffee shops, retail spaces, brewpubs, and more!
The house has a 1-car detached garage and room for another 2 vehicles in the driveway.
It's very easy to get around by sidewalk, bicycle, car, or public transportation.
