Charming and quaint historical residence. Beds were comfortable and the house was equipped with plenty of necessities to make the stay feel like home. If you have a student at CHOWAN University, stay at the Rectory, where you can make a meal, sit by the fire and enjoy a peaceful stay in the country.

Fun, quirky house. History is great and this place has it. We loved it stay and loved reading about this house’s history in the welcome binder. It’s a little off the beaten path, but what adventure is with taken if it’s a well traveled road. Ruth is an excellent host. She is extremely responsive and was proactive in making sure we were settled in. Check out was super smooth also. It isn’t easy finding a place that can accommodate a larger group and we’ll be back to the Rectory again for sure.

We had some issues that seemed to be just things overlooked in the cleaning process. Ruth responded immediately and resolved the problem just as quickly.

Lovely and charming historic home in a very peaceful and serene setting. The host was communicative, gracious, hospitable, left a welcome basket, and had everything available that one would need to fully function within the home. We loved it - and thank you, Ruth.
