Welcome to Kirkwood. Sit back and soak up the beauty and tranquility of this mid-century architectural gem that has been on the mid-century tour of homes. An easy walk or bike to downtown galleries, restaurants, parks, theaters and Univ of Florida campus and hospitals. This luxury pool home on 2 acres is beautifully appointed, filled with original art, private and quiet. Whether poolside, or around the multiple gardens, there are multiple places to sit, ponder, and reflect. Savor the peace, spaciousness and tranquility of this mid-century architectural beauty built in 1953 and wonderfully restored with thoughtful attention to detail. The home is nestled on almost 2 private and quiet acres with lovely garden areas. Savor the expansive sky as you sit alongside or float in the saltwater infinity pool, or enjoy the pool from inside the home as you look out the floor-to-ceiling glass wall. Enjoy Al-fresco dining or lounge in the covered outdoor living and dining pavilion along one end of the pool. The home is wonderfully appointed and awaits your arrival. The kitchen is well equipped for the discerning cook and the quartz countertops are great for pastry or bread making. For your culinary prep, the kitchen has a food processor, immersion blender, hand mixer, and a wide variety of bakeware and stainless cookware. The 2 bedrooms are comfortably furnished with memory foam mattresses (1 king, 1 queen) and appointed with great linens and comfy pillows. The en-suite primary bath is with heated tile floors and a curbless walk-in Shower with on-demand endless hotwater. The second bathroom is fully tiled with tub/shower combination. We have stayed in hotels and vacations homes all over the world. This place is in our top three stays - ever. It is absolutely fantastic. The mid-century modern architecture was very spacious and clean, and we felt right at home from the moment we stepped inside. We had covered parking, great entry instructions, and just loved everything about it. The outdoor space - oh my!! It is in town but extremely quiet and peaceful. Tons of trees, a huge yard, a beautiful clean pool, and a seating area that was covered as well. The kitchen has everything you could possibly need, and the bathrooms were perfect. We were a party of two for a long weekend down for the football game. Loved the neighborhood as well. Just cannot say enough good things about the place. Host David was extremely responsive to our listing and questions, and he let us enjoy our time there without interruptions. We will stay again if it’s available when we come to Gainesville!
David’s place was amazing, so relaxing and private. The living room area is so spacious and the view out the huge windows to the pool and back yard made it so peaceful. I would definitely stay again and highly recommend!

This secluded and established in-town neighborhood with shaded and winding lanes is surrounded by public access preservation lands and permanent green space. A few notables are Paynes Prairie State Park, Sweetwater Wetlands Preserve, and Bivens Arm Preserve.
The neighborhood is great for walking or jogging it’s wonderful tree shaded lanes. And our location is great for walking or biking to city-center restaurants, farmers market, galleries, theaters, parks, the University of Florida, and the world renowned Butterfly Rain Forest. And of course, auto travel to these places is a few minutes and there is ample parking at most locations.

Covered carport on property with vehicle parking for 1 vehicle is a few steps from the home’s entry door and a second vehicle may be parked in the driveway.The shaded Neighborhood is ideal for walking and biking, with public bus service being accessible with the nearest stop a 10 minute walk from the house. On-demand ride sharing and scooter sharing services are also available.

We are a retired hospice nurse and an attorney with deep ties to our community going back generations. We are both graduates of the University of Florida and have lived and worked around the planet. We prefer personal and private spaces as compared to commercial establishments and are now making our primary home available to air bnb guests when we are away. We will do our best to make you feel welcomed and comfortable in our space in the same manner in which we have been welcomed in other peoples spaces.
