Exceptional scenic qualities - undisturbed views of meadows, forests and the surrounding hills. An excellent base for exploring the historically rich regions of Warmia and Upper Prussia. If you are looking for a cosy place to relax in a slow life style, this is the place for you. It's a place in the WILDERNESS, so the location may not be suitable for those who like crowded resorts and the comfort of a 4-star hotel. The cottage is situated on a hillside ca. 0,5 km from the tiny village of Raciszewo (German: Reichenthal). Raciszewo lies in the region of Upper Prussia, also called Oberland, on the border with Warmia, as the Pasłęka River was the border separating the historical regions of Warmia and Upper Prussia for several hundred years. In the Middle Ages, before the Teutonic conquest in XIII century, this region was inhabited by the Pogezanians - one of the Old Prussian tribes. The entire area of the plot is included in the Pasłęka River Valley Natura 2000 site. The river was called Passeria in Old Prussian and Passarge in German. The entire course of Pasłęka river is part of a nature reserve where you can meet beavers, otters, American minks, goosanders, roe deers, wild boars and foxes. ONLY SMALL DOGS and cats are accepted - due to the presence of wild animals in the area. The area is also a mecca for birdwatching enthusiasts, as many rare bird species can be found here. There are many interesting cycling routes in the area, and two new trekking bicycles are available for the Guests (provided free of charge by arrangement with the Host).
