We loved our stay at Kristen's place in the Pocono Mountains. The house looked exactly like the photos and everything was clean and accessible. Would definitely recommend if visiting with a big group as the home was spacious and bright. We also loved the front gate woman, Dot, who was helpful and made for an even better experience!
Pros: The biggest plus of our stay was the area and location of Kristen's place. The Poconos have been our go to for years and it didn't disappoint this time. Kristen's place was a good option but for the price there were a few things that unfortunately forced me to rate it as good instead of great. Cons: I had to fill out the same community form 4 times ahead of our arrival, only to have the front gate keeper ask us to fill it out a 5th time manually when we showed up. We then had to clean up the driveway to the house of large tree debris and wait at the door for the access code for over 30 minutes. Once inside the house it smelled as if it had been closed for months. There was dust everywhere, old food still inside the fridge and the kitchenware had to be washed before use. The bedrooms were in good shape with clean sheets but the bathrooms were kind of rough. The deck/patio and the grill hadn't been cleaned at all in a long time and the patio chairs were rotten and filthy.
Great stay will come back
We had so much fun at this beautiful lake house. It snowed while we were there and has the most breathtaking views in the snow. The house was very comfortable, very clean, and had everything and more for a little getaway. We cooked our meals in the house and there was everything you would need for baking and cooking. The tv room was one of our favorite spots to hang out. Snow storm hit pretty bad and the house had everything we needed to shovel our way out and the hosts were kind to give us extra time to get our cars out of the driveway. Only thing to look out for are the narrow stairs, socks and stairs were not a good mix, husband had a horrible fall down them. Just make sure you bring some indoor shoes/slippers so you don’t slip on the stairs. Overall would love to come back!
Check in was a bit chaotic with the front gate and had to reach out to co-host for a lot of questions,but overall stay with the lake view was great. If instructions such as wifi password can be included in the instructions or updated book inside the house, that would be lovely. However, my family and I enjoyed our stay and our children loved the space. All amenities were provided that we needed. The kids were a bit sad the Christmas tree did not light up, but we were able to spend a great Christmas together here. Thank you for helping us create a great family memory here.
