Taos is lovely; the space was beautiful, historic, serene. However, we had a very sour encounter with the host, Emily. She did refund us the (1) night we stayed, but our interaction was baffling. Upon arrival at 5:30 PM, our beds had no sheets and there was trash in the room. When we asked the host when it could be fixed, she became extremely passive aggressive. She told us she was "happy we had never made a mistake in our lives," but she was "exhausted" with two kids and wouldn't be able to fix it for several hours because her Workaway volunteer hadn't arrived. She asked what the big deal was, are you sleeping at 6? Just do yoga in the yard, BREATHE, 'listen to a native drum.' When we pressed about when we could use the room, she told us she was done, to just take the refund and go find a motel. She said that we were "sad people," she "felt sorry for us," she "hoped we healed." Not wanting a motel, we agreed to take the refund and access the room late. Our room was ready at 8:44 PM.
