It’s pretty rare to find a place that exceeds your expectations, but Teresa and Darren’s Cozy Cabins on Sproat Lake absolutely did. We were blown away by our stay - the views, the lake, the wonderful sense of calm. If only we didn’t live so far away we’d be back very soon.

Our family has been renting at Sproat Lake for four years now and this place tops them all! The view is spectacular and the decking, dock and water access was exactly what we were looking for. The beds are comfy and the kitchen had the types of amenities one needs to make delicious lakeside meals. My husband also enjoyed barbecuing on the excellent grill. Sproat Lake is our favourite lake in BC: warm, clear and no bugs 😃 Thank you to Teresa and Darrell for hosting us. We’ll definitely be back (hopefully next summer)!

The cabin had a beautiful view and was extremely clean. Communication with Teresa and Darren was excellent, and they offered us a free night's stay before our original check in date due to the highway closures, which was very kind. Unfortunately we encountered a few unexpected issues. The wifi was extremely weak and there was no cell service, so in order to work we had to set up our laptops on rocks near the main house. There were large carpenter ants in the bathroom constantly. It was very hot and there were no fans (only ceiling fans in the bedrooms, which were very wobbly and a little scary to use). No microwave. The wind comes up really hard at 3-4 pm making afternoons on the deck or by the lake challenging. We have stayed in many Air BnBs over the years, both high end and budget, and we feel this place should be priced lower for what it is.

Teresa was super helpful in communicating check in instructions. The cabin was exactly as pictured, and the area of sproat lake that they are situated are really is heaven on earth. It was quiet, the lake is deep and beautifully clean, perfect for paddle boarding and swimming. The town of Port Alberni is only a short 20 min drive away, but we were much happier just hanging at the lake. Would recommend staying with Teresa for sure!
