The farmhouse is situated in the beautiful rural Charente area of France and close to the Lakes of the Haute Charente for those who enjoy water sports. The area is ideal for walking, cycling, climbing, golf and fishing. La Tardoire which is close by is great for kayaking. Whilst the property is set in the middle of quiet open countryside it is also very well placed for visiting local amenities and site seeing. Throughout the year there are many local markets to visit, music festivals, fabulous restaurants offering local delicacies, shopping at Limoges and Angouleme and plenty to occupy the kids like Nautilus Aquatic centre and the Adventure Park at Massignac. If you just want a relaxing holiday with family or friends, the private garden, pool and BBQ facilities are ideal. There is nothing better than enjoying an 'Al Fresco' evening sipping wine and enjoying a BBQ in the evening sun in the beautiful French countryside!

It is advised to have your own transport whilst on holiday at La Tourterie as there are no local buses. Whilst lots of activities and places of interest are reasonably close at hand you will need a car to fully appreciate the area.
Montemboeuf is only a 10 minute walk away from the property and has a local Spa, bank, post office, butchers, bakers, tabac and bar. The supermarkets are in La Rochefoucauld, Chasseneuil and Montbron. The nearest cities are Angouleme and Limoges.
