I should note first and foremost that Sarita and Michel are very kind. They are clearly really good people with lots of rescue animals, and it seems like they put a lot of work into their farmhouse since moving in a year ago. All that being said, I want to give a pretty honest review so that future travelers are not caught off guard in the same way that we were. My dad and I booked two rooms here for three nights while in town for a local marathon (we ended up looking for other places after getting there and we couldn’t find anywhere new until the third night, so we still stayed two nights). When we booked, options were limited, but we had pictured a standard bed and breakfast type situation on a farm. We are pretty low maintenance so we didn’t mind that it looked like a no-frills sort of place. All that being said, there were a number of concerning things (and inaccuracies in the listing) that future travelers should be aware of: Pros of this listing: 1. Sarita and Michel are so kind and welcoming. They are good people with a lot of rescue animals. 2. The actual bedrooms that we were staying in were clean. 3. One of the four outdoors dogs was very sweet and friendly. 4. It was nice waking up to the sun on my face from the window and hearing the roosters on the first morning. Cons/Inaccuracies of this listing: 1. No air-conditioning, contrary to what was listed. Some folks may not mind this one, but given that we were in town for a marathon and needed to stay hydrated, we purposely selected a place that said it had A/C. The rooms each had a small fan and were VERY hot and stuffy, exacerbated by a heat wave in the area at the time, so I was waking up every hour drenched in sweat. 2. Cleanliness/odor— While the bedrooms themselves were clean without odor, that unfortunately was not the case for the rest of the house. The downstairs had a very strong odor of cat pee/litter and the bathroom upstairs smelled like garbage/septic the entire time. 3. No locks on either of the bedroom doors or on the bathroom door. This was especially concerning as a young woman traveling and in my own room. We were sharing the bathroom with an adult male relative living with Sarita and Michel, so locks seem like a must. I hope that this is something that Sarita and Michel can easily fix before any future guests. They had told us we could also use the downstairs bathroom if we needed to, but unfortunately, the smell downstairs made us both avoid it as much as possible. 4. The “breakfast included” consisted of them telling us how to use the coffee machine and that there were eggs in the fridge that we could help ourselves to if we wanted to make them. 5. The dogs outside barked all night (they are outdoor farm dogs, so protecting the property) and barked non-stop any time we were outside, so even spending time outside wore thin pretty quickly. Overall, while my dad and I are pretty low-maintenance and total animal lovers, this was not the spot for us. Future travelers may enjoy it if the above issues are not a concern for you, but given how heavily air BnB rests on past reviews, we wanted to make sure that future travelers were aware. We thank Sarita and Michel for their hospitality, and hopefully, some of these issues can be addressed.

We had such a wonderful stay and a true family farm experience! Sarita and Michel gave us a very warm welcome, would definitely recommend!

Sarita and Michel are amazing hosts and I felt very welcomed to join their farm life and conversations. All their animals are adorable and the farm is well located for excursions at the beach or for hikes. The room is very charming with a very comfortable bed. I would highly recommend this place for anyone who is looking for a soothing home away from home and animal and nature lovers!
