A comfortable two-bedroom, two-bathroom, two-storey home in a beautiful rural and private setting. Covered stoep with braai. Large garden with fruit trees. Sweeping views over the Baardskeerdersbos Valley. Spacious open plan living area on the first floor with a woodstove in the middle and with sweeping views over the Baardskeerdersbos Valley. Large windows around and double doors open up to the balcony. Lounge area with sofas and comfortable chairs, large oregon pine dining table and kitchen with 4 plate electrical stove and all required pots, pans, cutlery and crockery. The main bedroom (with kingsize bed) downstairs provides access to the covered terrace with an outside dining scenario and a braai. The main bedroom has a bathroom en suite with a bath. The second bathroom (with queen size bed) has its own little patio. There is an outside shower. The garden around the house (fully fenced in) runs out into a bigger orchard with citrus, apple, almond, pomegranate and other fruit trees.

Maarten was a very responsive owner. The Blouhuis was a perfect base for three adults and a baby. Baardscheerdersbos was a quiet, friendly, safe village. Great coffee at Forage. We also had a drink and nice takeaway meal from Marietjies pub.
We thoroughly enjoyed a weekend get-away at Blouhuis! What a bonus that our Labradors could go along and enjoy the properly enclosed large garden as well. The house and surroundings are well taken care of and we felt welcome and safe to relax in full in this quiet area. The views from the house are beautiful, and the restaurants are walking distance. A huge thanks to Maarten, who was proactive, responsive and clear in all communications. We will definitely be back for a longer stay!
Wij hebben ontzettend genoten van ons verblijf in Die Blouhuis! Prachtig gelegen, mooi ingericht, toffe ruimtes. Overal lichten voorzien voor loadshedding. Mooie vijver en tuin, gezellige stoep om te braai… Kortom, top en een echte aanrader!

Baardskeerdersbos is a small hamlet in the middle of agricultural and natural land. Though inland, it is close to the sea (Pearly Beach). Several vineyards and nature reserves in the area. The closest town for shopping is Gansbaai (~30km)
Baardskeerdersbos still has space. Everything can be reached on foot. Parking for guests in the garden of the Blouhuis itself.

I own and operate "Farm 215" a nature reserve of 800 hectares cum guesthouse in the Baardskeerdersbos Valley. Farm 215 borders the tiny village of Baardskeerdersbos where the Blouhuis is located. I live here since 2003, love this part of the Overberg, its space, variety of landscapes, its floral richness and beauty, the people, and the local wines. Apart from running the guesthouse I manage reforestation projects on Farm 215 and at other reforestation sites.
