I loved staying in an area of local Hawaiians and away from the touristy places. I liked the down home feel of the neighborhood. There are many close local beaches to choose from, ranging from calm lagoons for the little kids to the bigger waves for the surfers. I felt right at home in house. At times, there were 4 of us staying and we all could find a comfortable place to sit, either inside or out. The outdoor shower was a big hit with my teenage grandsons. Everything worked as it should, the kitchen was well equipped, and there was plenty of beach equipment (chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards) available. And, there are tons of mangos out back for picking. Thanks, Lucienne, for sharing your home.

Lucienne is a wonderful host. She was always responsive and helpful. The home was great. The property is very well maintained, clean and offers a beautiful Hawaii indoor / outdoor living experience. The location however was not the best for what my family and I were looking for. It is a bit off the beaten path on the west side of the island which tends to be a very locals only area of the island. It typically takes a minimum of 45min to get anywhere out of that area as well…and up to an hour and half to other parts of the island. Traffic is pretty heavy over there especially during rush hour. (Bumper to bumper). There is a bad homeless problem up and down the main road as well on the beaches. We stayed for a month and put over 3000 miles on our rental car driving in and out every day to do stuff on other parts of the island. Despite all of that, I do have to say the home itself was still great for our family and we made the best of the location situation. We still had a wonderful time.

Relaxing and inviting! Close to the beach and not far from grocery stores. Lucienne was very friendly, responsive and helpful.

This place was a short drive from many beautiful quiet beaches, great snorkel spots and surfing spots on the west coast. We believe the west coast often has better weather than the other areas of island and during our months stay we saw many whale spouts off of this shore, did great hikes along this side, swam with dolphins in nearby swimming areas, turtle sightings and even a few rare monk seal sightings! It’s located off a busy road in a busy area - would recommend researching the area to ensure it meets everyone’s needs! With four guests, the space was manageable but felt somewhat crowded when a fifth guest joined. Beds were very comfortable, kitchen was well stocked, and beach toys and towels were plentiful. Save money on rental here, rent a car for the month and you have the option to explore the whole Awesome Island of Oahu. Lucienne was very responsive and helpful throughout our stay, and also had a neighbour who was very helpful and accessible.

We stayed here for 30 days with 4 kids (12 and under) and it was perfect. We'd never been to Hawaii before - this was an experience for the books! Costco / Walmart are about 25 minutes away but we mostly went to the local grocery stores for the small stuff. Our kids favorite beach which we call "turtle beach" was their favorite and only a short 5 minute drive away. We go to the gym regularly so having a Planet Fitness 5 minutes away was a huge plus as well! Highly recommend this place if you're looking to get a local feel of Hawaii, not in a "touristy" area.
