My family and I stayed at Roderick’s home for 3 nights and it was fantastic! It’s like a storybook home from a Disney movie! We loved all the original architecture and special touches. It was exceedingly clean and had more amenities than most rental homes we have vacationed in. For instance, there was a bowl of fresh fruit awaiting us, waters in the fridge, plenty of clean towels and even body wash! The view is so peaceful and my daughters and their boyfriends were able to kayak. The living room has very comfortable couches that were great for when we hung out and played board games. Like others have noted, the road is busy, but once you’re inside the home or in the front yard or down at the beach, you don’t even notice it. It was very private and safe. There is a Winco right up the street and it’s an easy drive to the ferry terminal or to Poulsbo, which we highly recommend. There are a lot of stairs, but if you’re ok with that, we definitely give it a 10/10! Truly unique!

This house has great charm and character. Much of the original architecture has been kept and well-maintained or has been thoughtfully updated. It is decorated with a seamless blend of antiques, modern pieces, and original artwork. Each day I would discover a new detail that tickled my heart. And while the house is grand and luxurious, it also feels warm, inviting, and livable. The privacy and beauty of the land perfectly frames the serene spirit of the property. Note this prior to booking: -Upon arrival, the host will greet and provide a brief tour. Check-in is not independent. No key code entry. -Guests with mobility/balance issues may struggle with the stairs. -Bedrooms are on the top floor. -Clawfoot foot tub is on the main level, small, and may be difficult for large/tall guests to use. Bring bubbles. -Beach access is down a steep, switchback hill. There is nothing to hold onto for support. -Basement has a foosball table. No board games. -TVs cannot mirror smartphones.

Roderick place was very quaint and cozy. The place has a beautiful view and very comfortable for 7 guests. The host is very responsive. My family and I had a great time and we definitely will come back again.

We felt so relaxed at this home. There was plenty of space to spread out, and we enjoyed walking down to the water to explore the shells and watch the tide go in and out. The beds and linens were really comfortable too. The water was calm enough to safely take out the kayaks Roderick provided. Overall, a lovely place that feels secluded despite being close to a busy road.
