Walk 2 Hollenbeck Park, access some of the best restaurants in the country just ovr the 6th St Bridge in DTLA 5 min Arts District Little Tokyo 10 min MOCA Fashion District 15 min Crypto Arena, Keck 20 min USC This is NOT a party house. No events/filming without permission. No smoking or vaping indoors. If you intend on being destructive and otherwise disrespectful to myself or the neighbors, please don’t stay here. There are no shortage of hotels in LA that cost a multiple of this Airbnb where one can be party to their heart’s content! The Arts District was named in 2023 as #13 in the Time Out Magazine’s List of Coolest Neighborhoods in the World, #1 Coolest Neighborhood in LA. Full of youthful energy, innovation, history, commerce, and culture. This is a lengthy disclosure to try to answer commonly asked questions. My 19th century home is a showcase of vintage furniture and artwork collected over the past 20 years. No parties/filming/photoshoots please. 6 guests max. No Smoking or Vaping indoors. Outside only please. I have an extensive indoor houseplant collection. Any stays for longer than a week may require that my housekeeper and I have access during your stay to maintain the plants depending on time of year. Free street parking. I also have on-site parking BUT as the 9ft wide driveway is shared with the neighbor, you cannot leave your car in the driveway. You MUST pull in all the way into the fenced off back yard. There’s enough room to turn the car around. If you have a longer car you probably will have difficulty getting in and out so I recommend parking on the street. The vibe is urban suburban. We are on the Boyle Heights side of the LA River. If you cross the bridge, it’s the Arts District of DTLA. Hollenbeck Park is few blocks away and offers a nice break for a walk, basketball courts, a skate park, and playground. Boyle Heights is one of the first neighborhoods to be developed in LA and is very walkable. It feels like you’re in the suburbs but you’re actually in the cosmopolitan center of one of the most interesting cities in the US. Please be aware that this listing is in a city. We are in the same district (District 14) as DTLA. You will hear city noises. According to the latest US Census, LA is very diverse with 49% Latinx population and it is more densely populated than parts of Manhattan. (LA has significantly more people per household than Manhattan, which proved challenging during the Pandemic.) You may find the cost of goods, transportation, etc are significantly higher because you are in an expensive city environment. This is not a sleepy suburb, but an international Metropolis with cultures, languages, cuisines from all over the earth!🌍 . The location is also one of the original residential neighborhoods developed in modern LA in the late 1900s, so there will be historic neighborhood quirks. The location is unique for LA in that there’s so much space and yet it’s literally minutes from attractions like the new 6th St Bridge, Dover st Market, Bestia, Soho Warehouse, Geffen Contemporary, Little Tokyo, art galleries, etc. For LA, things are pretty accessible for pedestrians. Any of the food delivery apps will deliver to this location. (Try ordering from Koreatown or Little Armenia Friday @ 9 pm from Venice. It’s not happening because of the distance.) There is an imperfect parking space provided and free street parking as well as immediate access to all major freeways including the 101, 110, 10, 5, 60 which is rare for LA but so useful to bypass traffic. In LA, we think of distance by transit / traffic time, not mileage. LA is very different from most major cities in its sprawl and organized chaos. This city does not have a history of the same organized city planning commonly found in other large urban centers like NY or San Francisco. In terms of population, LA County is the most populated county in the US. I know it may be confusing because the immediate neighborhood of this Airbnb is in a residential near Hollenbeck Park, but please be aware that this is part of the urban core of Downtown LA. Its diversity and mix of cultures, cuisines, ideas, etc make it a very exciting place. Whereas in most cities like NY, the city dictates your experience, LA requires the individual to take the lead because of its sprawl. It’s easy for people to stick to one neighborhood; I urge guests to get out and explore/experience this massive, vibrant city.
The house was awesome! The plants were absolutely gorgeous as was the house. It was so clean, too, and we had a wonderful time. Walking to the Arts District took about 20 minutes. The neighborhood is definitely a bit edgy and as three women traveling together, we felt safe during the day but didn't walk around necessarily at night.
The vibe is urban suburban. We are on the Boyle Heights side of the LA River. If you cross the bridge, it’s the Arts District of DTLA.
Please be aware that we can only fit small cars in the backyard. Free street parking is available. Street parking is plentiful during the day when everyone has gone to work. After 4pm when everyone returns home, it starts to get full but it's doable, unlike most LA neighborhoods where it's impossible.
Mariachi Plaza Stop - walk through Hollenbeck Park) from this Airbnb. The bus and uber/lyft are also options.
This house and neighborhood are by no means perfect and I encourage potential guests to really look at the photos and read the description to see if this listing is a match for them. Otherwise, there are no shortage of hotels minutes away just across the LA River that might be a better match.

自我介绍
I'm a designer living in Los Angeles. I love meeting new people and exploring other cultures and traveling. We’ve had guests from all over the world (Middle East, Africa, Europe, North & South America, all of Asia, Australia.) Born in Seoul. Raised in LA. I consider myself an international citizen. I have lived all over this city from the Westside to the suburbs over a 30 year period and I can't imagine living anywhere else.
