Barbara was kind, warm, responsive and easy going. She leant me a yoga mat which I really appreciated! The arrival instructions were clear and easy. The room is large and the bed is comfy with good surfaces and lots of books - there is no window in the room, but a little light from a transom and plenty of lighting options. One night there was noise upstairs from a dinner party and thin ceiling but it ended reasonably and there were ear plugs by the bed! Lots of hot water in the shower! The living room is pretty with plants and windows and creative touches. The kitchen super clean and handy (though I did no cooking so I can’t speak to that). The walk to the subway is easy - about five blocks. There are some yummy cafes, good coffee and a park a block over amidst a classic rough Brooklyn commercial neighborhood. As a woman traveling alone I felt I had a kind ally and home base with Barbara.

The bed was really comfortable, the neighborhood felt nice and safe, and the L train gets you to Manhattan in just 35 minutes (though it doesn't run on weekends, which can be a bit of a hassle). There are cute cafes nearby, and Barbara is a gem—she made everything super easy, and I had a wonderful stay. The room is spacious and comfortable.

Barbara's place was a great spot to land in Brooklyn: cozy, quiet, and full of personality. Logistics were straightforward and the neighborhood was great to explore. Hope to visit again!
